STICKLEY DOMINATES IN ROUTE TO MOSPORT WIN
|

|
April 22nd, 2010 -- No one could’ve expected the kind of twists and turns this race would throw as the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series rolled into Mosport International Raceway for the 2nd Annual Dickies 100.
Brent Sweet with a blistering lap of 1:20.103 led Mike Husby and the rest of the field to the green flag. Unfortunately Mike Husby would drop out of the race due to connection problems before the green flag and retired from the race.
Brent Sweet would fall out of the race on lap 13 with engine problems and retired from the race as well.
Late in the race the caution would fall on lap 16 for a spinning Cory Spencer. While Frankie Stickley made his final pit stop. Stickley would have to line up at the end of the longest line as a result of pitting too early.
Bertus De Jong would end up blowing an engine at the same time Cory Spencer spun out in turn 3. De Jong would retire from the race because his crew was unable to fix the engine.
Will Goshen who had run in the top 5 the entire night would lead the field back to the green on lap 19. Frankie Stickley would end up taking the lead back with 10 laps to go and never looked back.
Stickley wins the Dickies 100. Andrew Hayes came home a very strong 2nd, Josh S in his first start finishes 3rd, Will Goshen after connection problems robbed him late in the race still brought it home 4th and Matt Trace rounded out the top 5.
With the front runners in points having major problems, it has completely changed the outlook of the point’s standings going into St. Eustache. Will Goshen leads Brent Sweet by a slim 4 points and looks to try and capitalize on it at St. Eustache.
Can Will Goshen continue to be consistent? Or will Mike Husby and Brent Sweet be up front once again? Could we see a possible first time winner? Find out next time, when the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series heads to St. Eustache for the Tufoil 125!
