STICKLEY DOES IT AGAIN IN TUFOIL 125

May 9th, 2010 --
The CASCOR Canadian Tire Series headed to St. Eustache, QC for the 2nd Annual Tufoil 125.

Mike Husby and Will Goshen led the field to the green flag. Frankie Stickley for the second night in a row would get turned around in turn one lap 1 once again.

Husby would lead the field back to green on lap 7. Several cautions slowed the field all night, which made it difficult for the drivers to make the right call on pit strategy in the final laps.

Mike Husby and Cory Spencer, two of the fastest cars in the field for much of he last half of the race decided to pit with 31 laps to go, giving up valuable track position for grip.

Will Goshen, Andrew Hayes, Frankie Stickley, Josh S and Cory Spencer would pace the field back to green with 28 laps to go.

The caution would fly for the 11th time of the night with 19 laps to go, when Mike Husby warped into Cory Spencer sending Husby to the rear of the field.

Will Goshen, Frankie Stickley, Dave Collard, Andrew Hayes and Cory Spencer led the field back to green with 13 laps to go. Cory Spencer would get all the way up to second position within 5 laps of the restart with a chance to run down race leader Frankie Stickley with 8 laps to go.

Meanwhile, Mike Husby who led 72 laps during the event made a daring three wide pass on Will Goshen and Andrew Hayes to take third with 5 laps to go. Cory Spencer however would close to within 2 car lengths of Stickley with 3 laps to go.

Spencer would end up over driving his car on the last lap, but came up short as Stickley went on to win the Tufoil 125. Spencer finishes 2nd, Husby 3rd, Hayes 4th and Will Goshen rounded out the top 5.

The points would tighten up even more with Andrew Hayes and Will Goshen being tied for the points lead and Mike Husby being a close third only 5 points behind the co-leaders. With the action starting to heat up in the Canadian Tire Series there is no telling who the champion could be.
