STICKLEY WINS ADVANCE AUTO PARTS 100

May 11th, 2010 -- As the CASCOR Modified Tour returned to Bowman Gray for double point’s night, things got mixed up with random qualifying draw.

Tyler Tucker and Will Goshen drew the first and second positions and led the field to the green flag. The first green flag run went for 40 laps until the first caution flew for debris on the track.

Tyler Tucker led the field back to green on lap 44. Caution would fly for the 2nd time when Pete Engelmanas went for a spin in turns one and two on lap 60.

Tucker would lead the field back to green on lap 65 when Cory Spencer sent Tucker for a slide in turn two. Tucker saved his car, but it ended up checking the field up behind, setting off a chain reaction wreck behind the leader as Auz Grams and Frankie Stickley got together on the restart.

Tucker continued to lead Brent Sweet, Mike Husby, Will Goshen and Dave Collard back to green with 31 laps to go. Caution flew for the final time with 11 laps to go for Brent Sweets self spin on the back straightaway.

Tyler Tucker would lead Mike Husby, Will Goshen, Dave Collard and Frankie Stickley down to the final restart with 7 laps to go. Husby would throw everything he had at Tucker to get by, even giving Tucker a little nudge in turn three on the final lap. But Tucker would hold on to win the Whelen 100 on double point’s night.

The Modified series is off until May 31st when the series will return to action at the Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA for the first annual Made in America Whelen 125!
