SWEET WINS MADE IN AMERICA 125

June 1st, 2010 -- The CASCOR Modified Tour rolled into Martinsville Speedway for the first annual Made in America 125.

Brent Sweet and Dave Collard made up the front row and led the field down to the green flag. Things got off to a bumpy start when Jeremy Nickens got into the back of Ben Althen in turn one of lap 1.

Several cautions slowed the event but a long green flag run stretched the field out around the short half mile paper clip, that even allowed for some green flag pit stops.

Another caution flew when Ben Althen got turned around again, this time in turn three on lap 96. The restart would come on lap 103 with Brent Sweet leading the field back to green.

The caution would fly once again when Dave Collard got into the back of Auz Grams on lap 112. Restart on lap 119 saw Brent Sweet lead Jordan Robson, Pete Engelmanas, Will Goshen and Ben Althen, the top 5 back to green.

Sweet was untouchable all night and pulled off the win in the Made in America 125. Jordan Robson finishes 2nd, Pete Engelmanas 3rd, Auz Grams 4th and Dave Collard rounded out the top 5.

The points battles abroad the CASCOR divisions are tight, including the Modified division points battle. Will Goshen leads Tyler Tucker by 1 point going into the next race at Bowman Gray Stadium in two weeks.

Can Goshen stay atop the points standings after Bowman Gray? Or can Tucker pull off another win at the famed short track? Find out next time when the Modified Tour heads to Bowman Gray Stadium for the Winston Salem Journal 75!
