May 18th, 2010 -- The CASCOR Super Car series returned to action Monday night at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the running of the Quaker Steak & Lube 100.
Jordan Robson and Mike Husby paced the field to the green flag. While several caution flags slowed the event, the final run of the night would set up a wild finish.
Aaron Levin and Bertus De Jong would end up staying out as the rest of the field pitted for tires. Dave Collard would be the only driver to take 2 tires on the final stop and lined up 3rd on the restart.
Levin was able to get a good jump on De Jong on the restart, but would fall back with his worn out tires. Jordan Robson took the lead back from Levin going into turn 3 with 12 laps to go.
Frankie Stickley would battle back to take the lead with 9 laps to go, but Robson who was having none of it, would get back by Stickley with 8 laps to go.
Stickley would take the lead back for the final time with 7 laps to go and never looked back. Meanwhile Pete Engelmanas charged his way forward to take 2nd from Robson with 4 laps to go.
Stickley was able to hold off Engelmanas and Robson in the final 3 laps to win the Quaker Steak & Lube 100. Pete Engelmanas finishes 2nd, Robson 3rd, Husby 4th and Gael Brooks rounded out the top 5.
With the Super Car series nearing the half way point of the season, Mike Husby leads Tyler Tucker by 65 points after the Quaker Steak & Lube 100. Find out what happens next week when the series returns to action at Toledo, OH for the Toledo 150!
