WIDELITZ CONTINUES TO BAT 1.000 AT POCONO

June 8th, 2010 --
After a wild and wacky race a few weeks back at Toledo the CASCOR Super Car Series headed to the Pocono Mountains at the Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA.

Jordan Robson and Harrison Widelitz paced the field to the green flag. The first caution of the day came when Mike Husby and Josh Tew got together in turn 1 collecting Will Goshen in the mess as well. All of the drivers involved were able to continue.

Pit stops would see the majority of the field pit for tires and fuel, as Thomas Mohl Jr. and Matt Trace stayed out under this caution period. Thomas Mohl Jr. and Matt Trace would lead the field back to green flag racing on lap 8. Widelitz would take the lead back on lap 10.

Several cautions caused the pace of the race to be slowed numerous times, but would once again make for an exciting finish. Harrison Widelitz, Tyler Tucker, Ben Althen and Bertus De Jong would all pit under what may have been the last caution of the night, opting for tires over track position.

Pete Engelmanas led Jordan Robson, Auz Grams, Dave Collard and Andrew Hayes back to green on lap 40. Widelitz and Tucker restarted 8th and 10th and set on a charge towards the front of the field.

Engelmanas was able to hold onto the lead until turn 3 of the final lap, as Widelitz would blow by Engelmanas take the win the in the Pocono 125. Engelmanas finishes 2nd, Robson 3rd, Grams 4th and Dave Collard rounded out the top 5. Widelitz continues to be undefeated at the "Tricky Triangle" and looks to once again be a contender for the win next year.

Mike Husby’s lead shrinks to 5 points ahead of Tyler Tucker going into the next race at St. Eustache. Will Tucker take over the points lead? Or can Husby remain consistent for the rest of the season? We’ll find out next time when the Super Car Series heads to St. Eustache, QC for the Tufoil 150!
