April 13th, 2010 -- As the Super Car Series drivers rolled into North Wilkesboro Speedway for the first time, Brent Sweet and Frankie Stickley brought the field down to the green flag for the North Wilkesboro 150.
It wouldn’t last long as Husby Motorsports teammates, Mike Husby and Pete Engelmanas got together going into turn three on lap 1. Husby was not too pleased with his driver over the radio, but continued on. Pete Engelmanas, Josh Tew and Mike Husby would pit under this caution for tires and fuel.
Brent Sweet would lead the field back to green on lap 7. Sweet would give up the lead in turn 3 to Frankie Stickley, who led 73 laps, the most of any driver in the race.
The caution would fly once again for a spinning Johnny Williams on the front stretch on lap 9.
Brent Sweet, Tyler Tucker, Andrew Hayes and Johnny Williams would all make their way down pit road for tires and fuel under this caution. Tucker would win the race off pit road, edging out Sweet by inches. Hayes and Williams would come out in the same positions they came in.
Frankie Stickley would once again lead the field back to green on lap 15. Matt Trace would get turned around on lap 29 by Tyler Tucker to bring out the third caution of the night.
The leaders of Frankie Stickley, Pete Engelmanas, Will Goshen and Mike Husby would all stop for tires and fuel under this caution. Tyler Tucker and Brent Sweet would pit one lap after the leaders, as well for tires and fuel.
Frankie Stickley would regain the lead and brought the field back to green on lap 36. The caution would come out again on lap 42 when Frankie Stickley got into one of his team cars of Bryan Bell. Stickley would have to line up at the tail of the field as a result.
Will Goshen would lead the field back to green on lap 48. Goshen would hand the lead over to Pete Engelmanas after getting loose off of turn 4 the same lap. Engelmanas would give up the lead to a hard charging Tyler Tucker on lap 63, with Frankie Stickley hot on his heels.
Engelmanas would lose control of his car and spin into the infield, but would not cause the caution until he came back on the track facing the wrong way.
Tyler Tucker would lead the field back to green on lap 69. Frankie Stickley would take over the lead once again on lap 73.
But the caution would fly again with Matt Trace losing control of his car, bringing the caution out on lap 77.
Frankie Stickley, Tyler Tucker, Pete Engelmanas, Andrew Hayes and Matt Trace all made their way down pit road for tires and fuel under this caution period. Tyler Tucker would win the race off pit road followed by Stickley, Engelmanas, Andrew Hayes and Matt Trace who would have to line up at the tail of the field.
The rest of the field would make their way down pit road the next lap.
Tyler Tucker would lead the field back to green on lap 82. Frankie Stickley would take the lead back on lap 84. While Pete Engelmanas would get loose again racing Stickley for the lead. Engelmanas bouncing off the wall came across the track into teammate Mike Husby. The caution once again did not come out until Engelmanas entered the racing surface the wrong way on lap 88.
All of the leaders would make their way down pit road for tires and fuel.
Frankie Stickley would once again lead the field back to green on lap 94. The caution came out again when Pete Engelmanas spun by himself in turn two on lap 101.
The leaders took the time to pit once again for tires and fuel. Stickley would end up getting a speeding penalty and had to restart from the tail of the field.
Tyler Tucker would inherit the lead once again and led the field back to the restart on lap 107. Stickley would make his way back to the front by lap 122 moving into second with another shot at taking the lead away from Tucker.
Stickley would finally get by Tucker on lap 126, hanging onto the lead until Mike Husby brought the caution out on lap 129 for a self spin.
All of the leaders would pit for four fresh tires with 20 laps to go under the caution flag. Stickley would win the race off pit road and led the field back to green with 16 laps to go.
Pete Engelmanas would spin again by himself, bringing the caution out with 12 laps to go. Stickley, Husby, Hayes and Engelmanas would all pit for tires with 10 laps to go under the caution period, giving the lead back to Tyler Tucker.
Tucker would lead Matt Trace, Andrew Hayes, Mike Husby and Pete Engelmanas back to green with 6 laps to go. Husby, Engelmanas and Stickley would move up a spot when Andrew Hayes slipped up the hill in turn 3 on the restart.
It wouldn’t last long, as once again Engelmanas got into teammate Mike Husby in turn 1, bringing the final caution of the night out with 5 laps to go. But the race for position was on, as the field raced back to the line. Stickley would edge out Engelmanas for third as Tyler Tucker would pull away from Matt Trace, to claim his first Super Car Series victory.
Matt Trace finished a career high 2nd, while Frankie Stickley in a hard fought battle brought it home 3rd, Pete Engelmanas finished 4th and Andrew Hayes rounded out yet another top 5 finish.
