HAYES WINS WILD ONE AT DAYTONA

February 14th, 2011 -- The newly formed CROW Series made its debut this Sunday at the Daytona International Speedway. Six of the ten eligible drivers chose to participate in the event, with Mike Husby and Andrew Hayes drawing the first and 2nd positions for the race.

Matt Trace would lead lap 1 with help from the high line which would be the first of 11 lead changes during the race. Caution would fly for the first time when Brent Sweet’s engine expired going into turn three on lap 6.

Pete Engelmanas led Matt Trace, Andrew Hayes, Mike Husby and Will Goshen back to green on lap 10. The drivers would get wild on the restart making it 3 wide in turns one and two as Will Goshen would take the lead.

Matt Trace would inch across the start finish line in 1st to take the competition caution on lap 20. The restart would take place with 16 laps to go, as Matt Trace led Andrew Hayes, Pete Engelmanas and Will Goshen back to green.

However on the restart, Matt Trace would also lose and engine going into turn 1, bringing the caution out for the second time under race conditions.

Andrew Hayes would lead Mike Husby, Will Goshen and Pete Engelmanas back to green on lap 29. But crazy blocking and the heightened aggressiveness made for some exciting racing in the closing laps.

Mike Husby attempting to pass Pete Engelmanas was shoved into the wall losing the draft. Will Goshen would also attempt to pass Engelmanas with 2 to go, but the two would get together taking both drivers out of contention for the win.

Andrew Hayes would go on to avoid all the chaos in the final laps to win the race. Mike Husby finishes 2nd, Goshen 3rd, Engelmanas 4th and Matt Trace who retired because of engine problems rounded out the top 5.

The first round of 4 was complete. But the CASCOR Administration hopes that more drivers will show up to the next round of the CROW series at Talladega in a few months.

Next up the CASCOR Super Car Series returns to action next week at the Hutchinson Island Street Course for the 3rd annual Tuckgraphics.com 75.

Engelmanas would lead Matt Trace, Thomas Mohl Jr., Chris Swett and Cory Spencer back to the restart with 2 laps to go. The caution would fly that very same lap as the rest of the field raced back to the line. Engelmanas would hold off Matt Trace in a photo finish to take the white flag and caution flag.

Engelmanas sweeps the Super Car and The High Line Truck series races at Daytona. Matt Trace finishes 2nd, Chris Swett 3rd, Cory Spencer 4th and Thomas Mohl Jr. rounded out the top 5.

February 7th, 2011 -- The CASCOR Super Car Series would officially begin the season with the first points race of the year at none other than Daytona International Speedway.

The race would restart once again on lap 16 with Dave Collard leading Harrison Widelitz, Mike Husby, Pete Engelmanas and Andrew Hayes back to green. Caution #3 would fly two laps later on lap 18, when Dave Collard got turned sideways in front of the field, causing the field to check up. Pete Engelmanas would be the unfortunate one getting turned around as a result.

Jake Williams would lead Dave Harvey, Chris Swett, Curtis James and Mike Husby back to green on lap 23.

The race would go green flag racing the rest of the way with final pit stops coming with about 15 laps to go. Pete Engelmanas would nail his stop getting off of pit road first. Engelmanas would take the lead from Jordan Robson on lap 67 and never looked back.

As the final caution flew for the final time with 2 laps to go, it would seal the deal for Pete Engelmanas with the race ending under the caution flag. Engelmanas wins, Cory Spencer would take 2nd in a photo finish with Matt Trace to take the caution flag, Trace 3rd, Dave Collard 4th, and Harrison Widelitz rounded out the top 5.

February 2nd, 2011 -- The CASCOR Super Car Series welcomed a new season of stock car racing at the Daytona International Speedway Monday night in the DoorStop Nation shootout. Matt Trace led Andrew Hayes, Pete Engelmanas, Dave Collard and Thomas Mohl Jr. the top 5 back to green with 1 lap to go. Trace would hold off the rest of the field when the big one happened entering the tri-oval.

Trace would win his first race at Daytona. Pete Engelmanas finishes 2nd, Dave Collard 3rd, Brent Sweet 4th and Cory Spencer rounded out the top 5.

CASCOR officials were not pleased with the restrictor plate package they had on the cars during the shootout, with the field only being able to make passes on the bottom of the track. So changes will be made for the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 along with the Next Era Energy Resources 125 to help increase side by side racing.

Next up for the Super Car series is the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 on RLMtv you won’t want to miss any of the action. See it all unfold on February 7th, 2011!

Husby would catch leader Will Goshen with 21 laps to go. But everyone would have to make one final stop with about 10 laps to go. As the leaders pitted, Goshen would get around Husby getting on pit road, but wheel issues would keep him from getting off pit road with Husby.

Mike Husby would pull away to a 14.92 second lead over 2nd place Brent Sweet as the checkered flag waved for his first Indy Racing League victory ever. Will Goshen finishes 3rd, Ben Althen 4th and Bertus De Jong rounded out the top 5.

Husby would lead a total of 123 laps, while only giving the lead up 2 times in the entire race. With only a few caution flags coming out in the race, green flag racing was very much prominent throughout the night.

The first caution of the night came out when Will Goshen got into the back of Matt Trace, turning him around in turn four on lap 86. All of the leaders would take this opportunity to pit for 4 fresh tires and fuel as well as taking a much needed breather from all the fast paced action.

Mike Husby would lead Andrew Hayes, Tyler Tucker, Marcus Penney and Will Goshen back to the green flag on lap 91. The field would stay green flag racing for the next 8 laps before the second caution of the night took the #10 of Bertus De Jong and the #55 of Tyler Tucker out of the race on lap 99.

The leaders would stay out with only 20 laps left in the event, when the field would take the restart. Husby would once again lead Andrew Hayes and Marcus Penney down to the restart with 20 laps to go.

Husby, who was so dominant all night, began to noticeably get tighter with 6 laps to go. Husby continued to get tighter as Hayes reeled him in, in the final laps. Hayes would get to Husby’s inside on the final lap to win in an exciting photo finish.

Andrew Hayes would continue his winning streak and make it 4 in a row at the Milwaukee Mile. Mike Husby finishes a close 2nd, Marcus Penney 3rd, Tyler Tucker 4th and Will Goshen rounded out the top 5.

December 8th, 2010 -- As the CASCOR Indy Racing League returned to action at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway Tuesday night. Brent Sweet and Pete Engelmanas would lead the field to the green flag.

Pete Engelmanas would take over the lead on lap 11, holding onto the lead until lap 14 when Engelmanas made slight contact with the wall, handing the lead over to Matt Trace.

Trace would hang onto the lead until pit stops would attempt to take place on lap 21. A cluster among drivers getting on pit road would bring the caution out for the 2nd time of the night on the same lap. Two more cautions would fly setting up a wild 6 lap shootout to settle the finish of the Indianapolis 200.

Andrew Hayes would lead Tyler Tucker, Brent Sweet, Marcus Penney, Matt Trace and Mike Husby back to the restart on lap 74. The front runners stayed mostly stationary as Mike Husby who had just gotten the wave around, battled his way up to 3rd in one lap.

BEHIND THE WHEEL: ANDREW HAYES

November 18th, 2010 -- This week on Behind the Wheel, we will look at driver/owner Andrew Hayes. Andrew finished 3rd in the CASCOR SuperCar Series Points for 2010, and claimed his first victory in the Indy Racing League Tuesday night. Lets go, Behind the Wheel!

Andrew Thank you for joining us on this weeks installment of Behind the Wheel. Are you Ready?:

Yes.

Let's start with the basics.

Where are you from?:

I am from St. John's Newfoundland, Canada. Born and raised here. Its an island on the east coast of Canada. St. John's is actually the oldest city in North America.

What drew you to CASCOR?:

Well after NASRA decided to shut down, I heard Mike Husby was going to make a Canadian Tire series based league, which was the main idea of this league. So I signed up and raced in the very first CASCOR race at St. Eustashe, which had, I think about 20 cars on that tight short track.

If i'm not mistaken, you do other forms of sim racing not just Nascar Racing 2003, Correct?:

That is correct. I currently race in another league on iRacing.com called Big Red Racing. I race a Dallara IndyCar in a 8 race season, which has 2 races left. I'm 3rd in the points standings right now. I've done some league racing during my downtime from NR2003 on rFactor using the CART mods from IDT Simulations. I also did some sports car racing on GTR2.

I'm sure you have had a lot people that have influenced you the most throughout your life. Who, in sim racing, influenced you the most?:

Well I never really had an influence to get into Sim Racing when I started. I was always a huge gamer in the old EA sports NASCAR titles when at the time, were the best at the time. I just ended up buying a copy of the PC version of NT2004 and the rest is history. But now, drivers I met over the years kept me into it, like Pete, Mike and yourself.

I must say, you followed a tough act in Harrison Widelitz. We asked him, who was his favorite CASCOR Competitor.
Since he got the favorite part, we will go in the opposite direction.

If there was one driver you could race against and beat weekly, whether it be a rival or a friend, who would it be?:

Well naturally a driver wants to beat everyone out there, but the certain ones out there on the track would have to be the drivers who are on the top of the Charts week after week. Like Frankie, Harrison, Pete, Brent, Jordan. Beating those drivers who won championships and a ton of races when you are the underdog is very statisfying.

One more question, tell us one thing that not many people know about you?:

Well between the age of 12 and 19, I was apart of the Canadian Sea Cadets. Which during my time there, I won 3 medals, perfect attendence awards 7 years in a row, most disaplined cadet award and was asked to be a drum instructor after aging out. But other things like work prevented me from going on with the Cadet program.

Thanks for joining us on Behind the Wheel it's been fun. However, we have to put the spotlight on you before you leave. We want you to give us a statement on your experience thus far in CASCOR.

My experience in CASCOR has been very positive. Before coming over here, I've never won a offical race on NR2003 until this year. I came close quite a few times before but never got the job done. But I really gotta thank iRacing.com for making me a better driver than what I was...you can ask Pete that haha...But anyways, I hope to see CASCOR keep going for a long time yet and I am looking forward what the future brings to my Sim Racing career.

Tune in next week and see who we go Behind the Wheel with next!

HAYES WINS @ LONG BEACH

November 17th, 2010 --
The CASCOR Indy Racing League headed west to the streets of Long Beach, CA Tuesday night for the running of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Tyler Tucker and Andrew Hayes would lead the field down to the green flag. Tucker would jump out to the early lead over Andrew Hayes and went on to lead the most laps. Hayes however would take the lead away from Tucker with just 6 laps to go.

Hayes would pull away and never looked back to claim his first Indy Racing League win of the season. Tyler Tucker finishes 2nd, Mike Husby 3rd, Frankie Stickley 4th and Marcus Penney rounded out the top 5.

With his win Andrew Hayes has taken over the points lead from Will Goshen, but only by a slim 8 points. The series returns to street course action next week at the Hutchinson Island course that the CASCOR Super Car Series made a stop at earlier in the year. Most drivers being familiar with the track should make for a good race.

Can Andrew Hayes make it two in a row? Or will we continue to have a new winner next week? Find out next week in the Tuck Graphics Grand Prix of Hutchinson Island!

GOSHEN TAKES FIRST INDY RACING LEAGUE WIN

November 10th, 2010 --
Yet another new division would bring the heat this winter in the CASCOR Sim Racing League, with the debut of the CASCOR Indy Racing League at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. High speeds, close quarters and tight side by side action will be prominent throughout the season, making for great racing and a great points battle.

Mike Husby would take the pole for the event and started along side Andrew Hayes to lead the field down to the first green flag of the season.

Three cautions would slow the pace of the race, with the biggest wreck coming on lap 12 when a five car incident reduced the field to just six due to the “Big One”.

The race would go on to have two very long green flag runs. But Will Goshen would pull out all the stops and went on to win the first Indy Racing League race in CASCOR history. Frankie Stickley finishes 2nd, Pete Engelmanas 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th and Marcus Penney rounded out the top 5.

The Indy Racing League heads to the first street course event of the season next week. Can Will Goshen make it two in a row? Or can some of the road ringers fine their way to victory lane? Find out next week when the series heads to Long Beach, CA for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach!

STICKLEY TAKES WIN & CHAMPIONSHIP

November 3rd, 2010
--
The CASCOR The High Line Truck Series would make its final stop of the 2010 season at none-other than the Homestead Miami Speedway.

Ford was well represented, by qualifying in the top 3 spots in the field. Mike Husby would get his 2nd pole of the season, starting along side Josh Boyer.

An early caution would shake up the running order as many drivers would pit early and a few drivers would stay out on 7 lap old tires.

After the green flag waived for the restart a long green flag run would make way for green flag pit stops. Mike Husby would be the big loser getting his left front fender taken off entering pit road. Husby would be forced to retire after not meeting the minimum speed requirement.

But during the middle of green flag stops another caution flew when Nick Tart missed the entrance of pit road and slid back up into on coming traffic. This would trap a number of trucks 1 lap down, with only three trucks managing to stay on the lead lap.

The final restart would come on lap 45 and the race would go green to the end. Frankie Stickley would make it 5 wins on the season to take the checkers in the Ford 100. David Harvey finishes 2nd in his first start, Bertus De Jong 3rd, Pete Engelmanas 4th and Josh Boyer would round out the top 5.

As the season comes to a close Frankie Stickley wins the championship by 185 points over Pete Engelmanas, Mike Husby would finish 3rd, Josh Boyer finished a strong 4th in the standings and Andrew Hayes rounded out the top 5.

With the first season down in the Truck series, domination was the name of the game in 2010. Pete Engelmanas and Frankie Stickley would manage to win a combined 10 races out of the 12 races scheduled, leaving the only other two winners to be, Mike Husby and Harrison Widelitz.

CASCOR would like to thank all the drivers and owners that took part in the 2010 The High Line Truck series, and would like to wish everyone a safe and happy off season.

Looking forward to 2011 the series looks to extend the schedule to 25 races making it easier on the full time drivers to miss a race or two without paying for it in the points title with the hopes of the championship coming down to the wire. Who will be the contenders and who will become the pretenders? Find out when the Series heads to Daytona in February, you won’t want to miss any of the action!

STICKLEY GETS WIN #4 AT HALLOWDEGA

October 27th, 2010 --
As the CASCOR The High Line Truck Series returned to action, they’d make their way to the biggest and baddest track of them all, the Talladega SuperSpeedway.

Aaron Levin driving for Frankie Stickley this week would take the pole and started along side Mike Husby.

The race got off to a slow start with an incident on lap 1 involving Dave Collard and Will Goshen. Several cautions would slow the pace of the event including a couple of cautions that involved flipping trucks.

But as always the finish would be a wild one with Frankie Stickley leading, Aaron Levin, Bertus De Jong, Mike Husby and Andrew Hayes the top 5 down to the final restart with 8 laps to go. Stickley would hold off Levin and the rest of the field after the final caution came out for a spinning Pete Engelmanas in turn #2 with four laps to go.

Stickley would extend his points lead and would be able to clinch the championship going into next weeks race at Homestead. Aaron Levin finishes 2nd, Wayne Wildermuth 3rd, Josh Boyer 4th and Bertus De Jong rounded out the top 5.

With only 1 race left on The High Line Truck Series table, a season of domination between Pete Engelmanas and Frankie Stickley has come down to one final race. As Stickley clinches the championship at the start of next week’s race, is there anyone that can hold him off for one last shot at the checkered flag? Or can Stickley or Engelmanas pull off yet another win this season?

Find out next week, when The High Line Truck Series makes its final stop at the Homestead Miami Speedway for the running of the Ford 100.

ENGELMANAS WINS FINALE @ LAKE ERIE

October 20th, 2010 --
The CASCOR Modified Tour rolled into Lake Erie Speedway Tuesday night for the final race of the 2010 season.

Brent Sweet would start the race with the championship already decided, but would try to end the season on a high note with a win in the season’s final event.

Pete Engelmanas and Jake Williams would lead the field down to the green flag. Only 2 cautions slowed the pace of the event as the last caution would setup a 1 lap shootout for the victory.

Pete Engelmanas wasn’t fazed by the 1 lap shootout and would take home the victory in the Lake Erie 100.

Brent Sweet would take his 2nd championship in CASCOR in the Modified Tour division. His first championship came in the Winter Heat Late Model division in 2009-2010.

A lot of speculation is going around the CASCOR garage that the Modified Tour may not return in the 2011 season due to the very low car counts. But there is word that the Late Model tour may return for a regular season of racing in the 2011 season.

CASCOR would like to thank all the drivers that helped support the Modified Tour and would like to wish every driver the best in the off season.

We’d love to see you back in 2011!

BEHIND THE WHEEL: HARRISON WIDELITZ

October 18th, 2010 --
Welcome to the first installment of Behind the Wheel! Our first interviewee has had some great success in CASCOR thus far, with 3 wins in his SuperCar Series career and 1 win in Trucks. This is Behind the Wheel with Harrison Widelitz.

Thank you for joining us Harrison! Let's start with some basic questions.
Where are you from?:

Originally from Staten Island, NY, currently living in central New Jersey.

Where did you make your first sim racing start?:

I think my first ever league race start was back at ESM in late 2003.

What drew you to CASCOR?:

Frankie definitely got me to run part time over at CASCOR, I believe some extra drivers were wanted for some more competition and he had some cars I could hop right into.

Lets draw away from Sim Racing for a bit, as some don't know you currently drag race?:

Yeah, I do a lot of local bracket racing in NHRA's Division 1 series. It's a lot of racing with a slow car, but I was able to run a 2000 Camaro SS for a while, that had a lot of work done. I'm currently in the running for Saturday championship, so I'm hoping for some luck for the final few races of the season and then going to try to carry that over into 2011 where I'm going to start running different cars and new classes.

What is your favorite car that you've drag raced in, or has it been one car for you so far?:

My favorite car would definitely have to be the 2000 Camaro SS... It was cammed, had headers, gears, high stall converter, injectors, Corvette Z06 intake manifold, full dual exhaust, plus a bunch of other goodies that I really can't remember. I've only raced 3 different cars, but that one was definitely my favorite.

Let’s get a bit on the lighter side of Harrison Widelitz.

As a little kid, like all of us were, what was your dream job?:

I actually wanted to be a crew chief for a little while because I wasn't sure that I'd be brave enough to drive race cars. But I think that definitely transitioned into the dream of being a successful race car driver. I had always been interested in racing from a really young age and it has definitely stuck with me.

So in a way your living your dream and a bit more?:

Oh I'll never say I'm living my dream unless I somehow make it into professional drag racing and make a comfortable living off of it.

Who was or is your hero?:

My childhood hero would have to be Rusty Wallace. I became a huge fan of his when I started watching NASCAR back in the 1994/1995 era.

We’ve got time for a couple more questions and these will really put you on the hot seat.

Who is your favorite CASCOR Competitor?:

That's a tough one, but I'd have to say that I've loved seeing Josh Tew out there, because he never got into competitive sim racing, but he's out here having fun driving his under funded painted cars and trucks, and is now starting to make some gains as a driver.

In one word, how would one describe Harrison Widelitz?:

Genuine. There are times where I've talked my way into trouble, but I have to stay true to my beliefs even if they're not of the popular opinion.

Thank you for your time, but we are going to ask you to do one more thing for us before we can let you off the hot seat. We’d like you to give us a statement about CASCOR and/or your experiences in CASCOR thus far.

I've had a fun time racing in CASCOR, but I feel that with the field sizes and drivers we have, there's no reason why the races can't be cleaner and greener. Everybody's got their bad races, but racing isn't very fun if we're under caution.

Tune in next week for another installment of Behind the Wheel!

ENGELMANAS WINS TWO-IN-A-ROW

October 13th, 2010 --
The High Line Truck Series visited the Gateway International Raceway for the first time Tuesday night.

Mike Husby and Frankie Stickley would lead the way to the green flag. Although, many drivers would have issues with the setup, resulting in several cautions throughout the event.

A restart with 4 to go saw Pete Engelmanas lead Matt Trace, Mike Husby, Josh Boyer and Frankie Stickley back to the green flag. Husby would manage to get by Trace with 3 laps to go. As Stickley would also manage to get by Josh Boyer before the final caution came out with 2 laps to go.

Pete Engelmanas would bring the field down to the caution flag/checkered flag to win his 4th race of the 2010 Truck Series season. Mike Husby finishes 2nd, Matt Trace 3rd, Frankie Stickley 4th and Josh Boyer rounded out the top 5.

Engelmanas would take his 4th win of the season tying him with Frankie Stickley for most wins so far this season. Can anyone stop the Engelmanas/Stickley dominance or will we have a new winner at Talladega?

GOSHEN WINS BATTLE, TUCKER WINS WAR

October 12th, 2010 --
As the CASCOR Super Car Series rolled into the Rock, the drivers were being watched by many viewers across the country and across North America. Why? For the Series first Online telecast on OLRtv.

Auz Grams and Frankie Stickley would lead the field to the last green flag of the 2010 Super Car Series season.

Several cautions would slow the event for many laps, which also included a rain delay (server problem) before the half way point of the race. CASCOR Officials would do their best to get scoring righted and the drivers went back to racing with 86 laps to go. A few more cautions in the remaining laps would set up an 8 lap shootout for the finish of the 2010 season.

Will Goshen, Pete Engelmanas, Jake Williams, Mike Husby and Ian Hann would lead the field back to the green flag for what would be the final restart.

Hann would move towards the front with a shot at Will Goshen with 5 laps to go, only to get loose in turn 1 and fell backwards as a result. Goshen however would hold off Engelmanas and the rest of the field to win his 2nd race of the season and the finale at the Rock. Pete Engelmanas finishes 2nd, Jake Williams 3rd, Brent Sweet 4th and Mike Husby rounded out the top 5.

Even though Husby would finish 5th in the race, it would not be good enough as Tyler Tucker who came home 8th would bring home the championship. This is Tucker’s first CASCOR championship in one of the most prestigious divisions in CASCOR. CASCOR would like to congratulate Tyler Tucker and the entire BCA Motorsports team for a great 2010 season. We look forward to their continued support in the 2011 Super Car Series season.

We’d also like to thank all of the competitors who showed up to the track this year and we hope you continue to support CASCOR in the 2011 Super Car Series season.

Have a great off season and we’ll see you at Daytona in 2011!

ENGELMANAS WINS AT CHARLOTTE

October 6th, 2010 --
The CASCOR The High Line Truck Series returned to action on a 1.5 mile track Tuesday night at the famed Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Pete Engelmanas and Brent Sweet led the field down to the green flag. But a rain delay (server problem) would occur on lap 41 as scoring would also drop for some drivers during the delay.

CASCOR Officials would right the scoring as the field would go back racing on lap 49. Pete Engelmanas would lead Matt Trace, Wayne Wildermuth, Josh Boyer and Brent Sweet back to the green flag with 19 laps to go.

A few cautions in the final laps would set up a 1 lap shootout for the win. Engelmanas would lead Matt Trace, Wayne Wildermuth, Steve McLean and Andrew Hayes down to the final restart of the night.

Engelmanas would get a good enough jump on Trace that Engelmanas would be able to hold Trace off coming to the checkered flag. Engelmanas would win his 3rd race of the season. Matt Trace finishes 2nd, Steve McLean 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th and Frankie Stickley rounded out the top 5.

The battle for the most wins this season in The High Line Truck Series continues as Frankie Stickley (with 4 wins) and Pete Engelmanas (with 3 wins) continue to dominate the 2010 Truck Series season. Who will be the one on top come season’s end? And can Pete Engelmanas close the gap even more in the championship?

Find out next week when The High Line Truck series visits the Gateway International Raceway for the running of the Gateway 100!

HUSBY WINS AT CONCORD

October 5th, 2010 --
Although the field may have been small the CASCOR Modified Tour still went on with the regular program.

Brent Sweet would grab the pole, while Mike Husby started outside the front row. Husby would take the lead from Brent Sweet on lap 5 at the start/finish line, only to lose the lead to Sweet in turn 3.

Sweet would lead 11 of the first 14 laps before Husby would find his way back by Sweet's #7 machine.

Husby would go on to lead the remaining laps, picking up his first CASCOR Modified Tour Win. Sweet finishes 2nd, Will Goshen 3rd and Dave Collard 4th.

As the season winds down Brent Sweet holds a large points lead over Will Goshen. Clinching the championship headed into Lake Erie for the finale.

The series heads to Lake Erie Speedway October 18th, 2010 for the Lake Erie 100. You won’t want to miss it!

THAT'S BS: FIELD SIZES

October 6th, 2010 --
Today’s weekly installment of “THAT’S BS” by Brent Sweet is about field size.

Particularly the gigantic difference we had this week. The modified tour is struggling, and we started 4 cars Monday. 4. We cut practice by 10 minutes and made the race 50 laps instead of 100, due to the low car count. Turn around 1 day. We have 16 trucks entered for Charlotte, which ends up basically being a speedway race, no lifting required unless you plow into the person infront of you. Now don’t get me wrong, it was a good race, but a little bit boring in terms of driver ability.

I think people are scared to run the modifieds now that they wanted change. We switched the schedule from Bowman Gray every week to a handful of other short tracks that provide good hard racing, and people still don’t show up. I know Mike sent an email out reminding people of the upcoming events, but let’s actually try to get a decent sized field for the final Modified race at Lake Erie. Who knows, it could be the last one ever held at CASCOR due to the low field sizes.

That was your weekly dosage of “THAT’S BS.” Tune in next week to see what I will rant about next.

WIDELITZ DOMINATES @ INFINEON

September 29th, 2010 --
The High Line Truck Series drivers made their first and only stop at the Infineon Raceway for the Kragen/Exide 75 Tuesday night.

Brent Sweet and Harrison Widelitz would lead the field to the green flag. Widelitz would go on to lead 38 of the races 40 laps en route to his first High Line Truck Series win. Frankie Stickley finishes 2nd, Brent Sweet 3rd, Mike Husby 4th and newcomer Josh Hardiman rounded out the top 5.

Widelitz becomes the 4th different winner in the Truck Series this season. But the question remain’s the same, will this streak of new winners continue? Or can the dominators of Frankie Stickley and Pete Engelmanas continue their winning ways for the remainder of the season?

HUSBY GETS BACK TO VICTORY LANE @ VEGAS

September 22nd, 2010 --
The High Line Truck Series returned to action at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Tuesday night.

Brent Sweet and Pete Engelmanas made up the front row and led the field to the green flag. Sweet would lead the first 4 laps before Pete Engelmanas slipped by on lap 5.

Engelmanas would lead the next 2 laps before Chris McCall took over the top spot on lap 8. McCall would lead the next 4 laps, while Steve McClean would take over the lead on lap 13.

McLean and McCall would swap the lead back and fourth throughout the night. Frankie Stickley and Mike Husby would also lead laps during the event as well.

A few cautions slowed the pace of the race for 16 laps. While a wild moment for points leader Frankie Stickley saw him get turned around in front of the field. Luckily no one made contact with the series points leader.

That would allow for one more caution at the end of the race, setting up a 4 lap shootout for the win. Mike Husby would lead Pete Engelmanas, Josh Boyer, Steve McLean and Brent Sweet down to the restart.

Husby would get a great restart and went on to win the Las Vegas 175k, his first win in CASCOR since March 3rd of this year. Pete Engelmans finishes 2nd, Frankie Stickley would rally back to finish 3rd, Josh Boyer 4th and Brent Sweet rounded out the top 5.

With Mike Husby breaking into the win column, this would be the first time this season Frankie Stickley and Pete Engelmanas did not make it into victory lane. Will someone else be able to break into victory lane? Or will the dominance of Stickley and Engelmanas continue on for the rest of the season?

Find out next week when The High Line Truck Series heads to Infineon for the first and only road course race of the season, for the running of the Kragen/Exide 75.

STICKLEY GETS WIN #12 @ SOUTH BOSTON

September 21st, 2010 --
The Super Car Series would roll into South Boston Speedway for the 2nd to last race of the 2010 season on Monday night.

Mike Husby and Justin Strumpf would lead the field down to the green flag. Husby would jump out to the early lead until Frankie Stickley got by him on lap 3.

A few caution flags slowed the early part of the event. But the race would go green flag for the last 82 laps.

Frankie Stickley would pull away from Mike Husby and went on to win his 6th race of the season and his 12th career victory in the Super Car Series. Mike Husby finishes 2nd, Tyler Tucker 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th and Josh Tew rounded out the top 5.

With only one race left this season, Tyler Tucker has a 45 point advantage heading into the finale at Rockingham North Carolina. Can Mike Husby make that deficit up in one race? Or will Tucker continue his consistent ways at the Rock?

Find out on October 11th, 2010 as the Super Car Series heads to Rockingham for the final race of the season. The event will be broadcast on OLRtv, so if you can’t make it to the race, you’ll be able to see it live at 8 pm EST on olrtv.com you won’t want to miss it!

STICKLEY MAKES IT THREE IN A ROW IN POCONO

September 15th, 2010 --
The High Line Truck Series rolled into the Pocono Raceway Tuesday night for the Pocono Mountains 75.

Pete Engelmanas and Mike Husby led the field down to the green flag. As the race wore on, it was definitely a race of attrition as 4 trucks would be left standing at the end of the night.

Frankie Stickley led Pete Engelmanas, Josh Tew and Mike Husby back to the final restart. Engelmanas would give it everything he had, but Stickley was able to hold him off to win the Pocono Mountains 75. Engelmanas finishes 2nd, Mike Husby 3rd, Josh Tew 4th and Brent Sweet rounded out the top 5.

The dominance of Stickley and Engelmanas continues, but can anyone knock them off the top spot?

Find out next week when The High Line Truck Series heads to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Las Vegas 175k.

COLLARD WINS FIRST RACE IN BRISTOL

September 7th, 2010 --
After about a month’s absence the CASCOR Modified Tour returned to action in one of the biggest races for the Modified Tour. The first annual UNOH Perfect Storm 100 at none other than Thunder Valley, Bristol Motor Speedway.

Brent Sweet and Kenny Holten would lead the field to the green flag. Sweet would lead the first 30 laps before pitting under caution. That would hand the lead over to Pete Engelmanas for the next 15 laps.

Dave Collard would take the lead on lap 45 and would never look back. Collard would win his first career CASCOR race in one of the biggest races of the year. Brent Sweet finishes 2nd, Pete Engelmanas 3rd, Julian Madore 4th and Andrew Hayes rounded out the top 5.

Brent Sweet would extend his points lead to 91 over Will Goshen with only 2 races left. Can Goshen find a way to get those points back? Or will Sweet continue to stay consistent?

Find out next time when the series heads to the Concord Motorsports Park for the Modified Tour Concord 100.

STICKLEY WINS ANOTHER IN HOTLANTA

September 1st, 2010 --
The CASCOR the High Line Truck Series returned to action at the Atlanta Motor Speedway Tuesday night.

Thomas Mohl Jr. and Josh Boyer would lead the field to the green flag. To start off the night a long green flag run spread the field out around the 1.5 mile speedway.

However several cautions would slow the field near the end of the race setting up a green-white-checker finish.

Frankie Stickley would lead Steve McLean, Julian Madore, Thomas Mohl Jr. and Josh Boyer down to the final restart. A minor jumble up on the restart saw Thomas Mohl Jr. attempt to make it 3 wide, but it wouldn’t work causing the big one. That would bring out the final caution of the night as the field raced back to the line.

Stickley would be able to hold onto the lead pulling away from Brent Sweet to take the win at Atlanta. Brent Sweet finishes 2nd, Steve McLean 3rd, Bertus De Jong 4th and Josh Boyer rounded out the top 5.

Once again Stickley would take yet another win keeping himself and Pete Engelmanas as the only winners so far this season in the Truck series.

Next week the series heads to the Pocono Mountains of Pocono Raceway for the Pocono Mountains 75.

HOLTEN WINS FIRST RACE AT CHICAGOLAND

August 31st, 2010 --
Race #15 of the Super Car Series season, would see the series make their way to the Chicagoland Speedway for the Chicagoland Super Car 100.

Brent Sweet and Pete Engelmanas would lead the field to the green flag. The race would get off to a hairy start when Mike Husby missed a shift, jumbling up the field behind him.

Seven cautions would slow the pace of the race for 25 laps during the event. But what turned out to be a controversial race came down to a controversial finish.

A restart with 2 laps to go would see Auz Grams lead Kenny Holten, Brent Sweet, Thomas Mohl Jr. and Pete Engelmanas back to the green flag. Grams would hold onto the lead until turn 4 coming to take the white flag when Grams and Kenny Holten made contact, sending the #31 of Grams hard into the outside wall and back down across the track.

Holten was deemed not to be at fault for the incident, and was called a racing incident by CASCOR Officials. Holten went on to complete the last lap to claim his first CASCOR Super Car Series victory. Thomas Mohl Jr. finishes 2nd, Pete Engelmanas 3rd, series points leader Tyler Tucker finished 4th and Bertus De Jong rounded out the top 5.

Mike Husby who came into the race 5 points behind Tyler Tucker suffered a transmission problem that relegated him to a 12th place finish. Andrew Hayes who is also not far out of contention for the title, finished 10th losing valuable points to the leader.

With just two races to go Tyler Tucker has stretched his points lead to 50 over Mike Husby headed into South Boston. Can Husby overcome the deficit? Or is it too little too late?

Find out in two weeks when the series returns to some short track action at the South Boston Speedway for the One Five Nine Web Designs 159.

STICKLEY WINS CHICAGOLAND 100

August 25th, 2010 --
The High Line Truck Series rolled into Chicagoland Tuesday evening for what would be one of the best races in CASCOR history.

Pete Engelmanas and Jordan Robson would lead the field to the green flag. With wild racing action all night the finish would be no exception.

A restart with 5 laps to go saw Jordan Robson lead Frankie Stickley, Pete Engelmanas, Mike Husby and Dave Collard back to the green flag.

Robson would get a good jump on the front runners as Engelmanas and Stickley duked it out for 2nd. Stickley would get by Engelmanas off of turn 2 and tried to reel in Robson for the win.

Stickley would have more than enough time to reel in Robson as he would get by him on the high side in turn two with 4 laps to go.

As the leaders started to pull away, the racing back in the field grew intense as Dave Collard made contact with Steve McLean bringing out the final caution of the race with 3 laps to go.

Frankie Stickley would hold on to win the Chicagoland 100. Pete Engelmanas finishes 2nd, Julian Madore 3rd, Mike Husby 4th and Brent Sweet rounded out the top 5.

Once again Frankie Stickley made it to victory lane, keeping the streak of Stickley or Engelmanas winning alive. Can anyone unseat these two?

Find out next week when The High Line Truck Series heads to Hotlanta for the E-Z-GO 100.

ENGELMANAS WINS FIRST SUPERCAR RACE

August 24th, 2010 --
While the season winds down, the Super Car Series returned to the Illinois State Fairgrounds for the 2nd time in series history.

Pete Engelmanas and Frankie Stickley led the field to green. Several cautions slowed the event for 31 laps. But nothing would prepare the drivers for what would be a 1 lap shootout for the win.

Englemanas would bring the field down to the final restart followed by Andrew Hayes, Tyler Tucker, Matt Trace and Brent Sweet the top 5. Things would get pretty wild as the green flag fell as drivers would go left and right to advance their positions.

The battle for 2nd would tighten up as 4 drivers would look to take 2nd place going into turn three. A slight mistake by Matt Trace saw him get into the back of Andrew Hayes, which would also collect Tyler Tucker in the melee. Tucker would see his 30 point lead, shrink to just 5 over Mike Husby, as a result of being caught up in the wreck.

Engelmanas would go on to win his first Super Car Series race of his career. Frankie Stickley finishes 2nd, Brent Sweet 3rd, Mike Husby 4th and Josh Tew rounded out the top 5, the first top 5 of his career.

With Tucker’s points lead shrinking to 5 this championship looks to go down to the wire at Rockingham. Can Husby take the points lead back next week at Chicago? Or can Tucker get back to his consistant ways?

Find out next week when the Super Car Series goes to the Chicagoland Speedway for the Chicagoland SuperCar 100.

ENGELMANAS GETS WIN #2 AT DOVER

August 18th, 2010 --
The CASCOR the High Line Truck Series returned to action at the Dover International Speedway Tuesday night. Harrison Widelitz and Pete Engelmanas would lead the field to the green flag.

There were several lead changes throughout the event, but Pete Engelmanas would lead the majority of the ladder stages of the race. As Harrison Widelitz would lead the most laps (61) of any driver during the event, falling to a dismal 8th place finish.

A late caution would then set up a 1 lap dash to the checkers as Pete Engelmanas led, Mike Husby, Chris Enloe, Brent Sweet and Frankie Stickley back to the green flag.

Engelmanas would get a good jump on Husby as the green flag dropped. Husby would gain it all back off of turn 2 and attempt a move to Engelmanas’ outside in turn 3 but it wouldn’t be enough. Engelmanas would go on to win his 2nd race of the 2010 Truck Series season. Mike Husby finishes 2nd, Chris Enloe 3rd, Brent Sweet 4th and Frankie Stickley rounded out the top 5.

A seesaw battle between Frankie Stickley and Pete Engelmanas has seen the two be the only drivers to make it into victory lane so far this season. Can anyone break into victory lane? or will these two continue to dominate the Series?

Find out next week when The High Line Truck Series heads to Chicagoland Speedway for the Chicagoland 100.

STICKLEY GETS BACK IN VICTORY LANE AT INDY

August 17th, 2010 --
For the fourth time this season Harrison Widelitz took the pole position, while Frankie Stickley started outside the front row.

Stickley would go on to dominate the race from lap 1 and never looked back to claim his 5th win of the 2010 Super Car Series season. Harrison Widelitz finishes 2nd, Mike Husby rallied back to 3rd after starting 12th, Austin Grams 4th and Tyler Tucker rounded out the top 5.

Mike Husby was able to cut into Tyler Tucker's points lead, shrinking it to 30 points between the top two in points. Can Husby continue to dig into Tucker points lead? Or will Tucker stay consistent for the rest of the season?

Find out next week when the series heads to Springfield Illinois for the Allen Crowe Memorial 100.

TUCKER WINS WILD BERLIN 150

August 10th, 2010 --
The CASCOR Super Car Series rolled into Marne, MI at the Berlin Speedway for the Berlin 150 Monday night.

Yet another late race caution would set up a Green-White-Checker finish for the win. Tyler Tucker would lead Harrison Widelitz, Auz Grams, Kenny Holten and Mike Husby back to the restart.

Tucker would slip and slide his way in the final 2 laps of green flag racing, holding off Harrison Widelitz for his 2nd win of the 2010 season. Harrison Widelitz finishes 2nd, Auz Grams 3rd, Kenny Holten 4th and Mike Husby rounded out the top 5.

Tyler Tucker extends his points lead to 40 over Mike Husby and 45 over Andrew Hayes.

ENGELMANAS WINS TUCK GRAPHICS 125

August 3rd, 2010 --
When CASCOR rolled back into Daytona, something new and fresh rolled onto the speedway. The CASCOR “The High Line” Truck Series took to the track for the first time and looks to be a premier series in the CASCOR Sim Racing League.

Fast forward to late in the race. A late race caution would bunch up the field for a 5 lap dash for the victory of the inaugural “The High Line” Truck Series race at Daytona.

Pete Engelmanas would lead Dave Collard, Chris Akin, Steve McLean and Frankie Stickley back to green. But Collard and Akin would make contact just before turn 1, sending the two spinning through the infield and back up onto the track.

That set up a mad scramble, racing back to the finish line. Pete Engelmanas would hold off the pack behind him to win the Tuck Graphics 125. Frankie Stickley finishes 2nd, Aaron Levin 3rd, Tyler Tucker 4th and Brent Sweet rounded out the top 5.

Next week “The High Line” Truck Series heads to the track Too Tough to Tame, Darlington Raceway for the Too Tough to Tame 100!

ENGELMANAS WINS AT CARAWAY

August 2nd, 2010 --
The CASCOR Modified Series returned to oval track racing this week at the Caraway Speedway in Sophia, NC.

Richard Davidowitz was credited with winning the pole. But technical issues would keep him from starting there. Mike Husby was allowed to move up into the pole position and started along side Dave Collard.

Collard would take the lead early on and looked to be strong all race long, leading 44 laps on the night. However Collard would lose the lead after getting sideways on the back straightaway on lap 45.

Pete Englemanas took over the lead at that point and never looked back, claiming his first CASCOR Modified Series victory in the Caraway 100. Mike Husby finishes 2nd, Brent Sweet 3rd, Thomas Mohl Jr. 4th and Tyler Tucker rounded out the top 5.

With that, Brent Sweet was able to extend his points lead over Will Goshen to 60.

The Modified Tour’s next stop is scheduled to be Bristol, but CASCOR officials may have to look at a date change for the Bristol race. Stay tuned.

HAYES WINS BATTLE, GOSHEN WINS WAR

July 28th, 2010 --
The only thought running through the top 3 in CASCOR Canadian Tire Series points were thinking before heading into the final race of the season, was the Championship. Only one would win the championship before the end of the night, but who would come out on top?

The night would get underway with Mike Husby and Will Goshen leading the field to the final green flag of the 2010 season. As the race wore on the field would do a great job of staying out of trouble until the caution finally flew on lap 104 for a self spinning Pete Engelmanas.

Many of the leaders would come down for tires, but were able to fake race leader Mike Husby into staying out, and took full advantage of their fresh tires over Husby’s worn out tires.

Husby would lose the lead to Will Goshen on the restart with 26 laps to go. Goshen and Hayes would then battle it out for the lead and the championship.

Caution flew for the final time when Goshen blocked Hayes going into turn 3 and slowed considerably, giving Hayes no where to go but into the back of Goshen’s car. Goshen and the race officials deemed it to be a racing deal and Andrew Hayes went on to win his first oval track race in the final race of the season.

Andrew Hayes wins the Dodge Dealers of Ontario Ram 125, Brent Sweet finishes 2nd, Josh Boyer 3rd, Will Goshen 4th and Mike Husby rounded out the top 5.

Will Goshen would win the championship by a slim 7 points over Andrew Hayes. Mike Husby finished third, 92 points behind, Brent Sweet fourth 185 points behind. And Pete Engelmanas would take 5th place in points, 350 points behind the champion Will Goshen.

As the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series 2010 season comes to a close. One thing is certain. Will Goshen has grown into a champion in a 2 year span, going from finishing 14th in the season opener in 2009 to one of the most consistent drivers in the Canadian Tire Series garage. CASCOR would like to congratulate Will Goshen and Husby Motorsports on a job well done and hope for continued success down the road.

WIDELITZ WINS LIME ROCK 50

July 27th, 2010 --
When the CASCOR Modified Tour returned to the track, what they found were right turns and left turns. That’s right, road course racing with Modifieds.

Dave Collard would take the pole of the inaugural Lime Rock 50. Harrison Widelitz would start along side, as they brought the field down to the green flag.

Collard would lead the first 6 laps of the race before handing the lead over to Harrison Widelitz on lap 7. With cautions being turned off, several lead changes would take place over the course of the event, producing some wild racing.

But no one was able to stop Harrison Widelitz, who led the most laps en route to victory of the Lime Rock 50. Richard Davidowitz would work his way from 12th to finish 2nd, Frankie Stickley who started 13th would come home 3rd, Brent Sweet came home 4th and Auz Grams rounded out the top 5.

Brent Sweet takes the points lead back by 29 points over Will Goshen heading into the next race at Caraway.

The Modified Series returns to oval track racing August 2nd, 2010 at the Caraway Speedway. Will anyone be able to pull off the upset? Or will we see Widelitz go for two in a row? Find out next week in the Caraway 100.

SWEET ENDS DRY SPELL: WINS MANSFIELD

July 20th, 2010 --
The CASCOR Super Car Series visited the Mansfield Motorsports Park for the first time in the 2010 season Monday night.

A restart with 20 to go would set up a wild finish as Brent Sweet led Auz Grams, Frankie Stickley, Mike Husby and Will Goshen back to the green flag.

Sweet would hold off all the charges by Frankie Stickley to win the Tim Richmond Memorial 150. Stickley would bring it home 2nd, Auz Grams 3rd, Mike Husby 4th and Will Goshen rounded out the top 5. This was Brent Sweet's first win of 2010. Which came after a nine month winless drought in the Super Car Series.

Tyler Tucker’s points lead would shrink to 15 over Mike Husby. Andrew Hayes who is 3rd in points closed in on Tucker as well, and is now only 20 points back going into Berlin.

The Super Car Series heads to the Berlin Raceway in Marne, MI for the running of the Berlin 150. Who will come out on top? And can Brent Sweet make it two in a row? Find out August 9th, 2010 when the Super Car Series returns to action. You won’t want to miss it!

ENGELMANAS WINS AT BARRIE SPEEDWAY

July 14th, 2010 --
As the season continues to wind down the points championship continues to be a wild one between Andrew Hayes and Will Goshen. No one could have predicted what was about to take place at Barrie Speedway. But it was nothing short of a shocker before the night was over.

Mike Husby and Will Goshen led the field to the green flag. Husby would hold onto the lead for 41 laps before giving up the lead by pitting while the leaders stayed out under an early caution.

Will Goshen would inherit the lead and led Andrew Hayes, Josh Boyer, Mike Husby and Pete Engelmanas back to green on lap 46.

In a rare state of events, Andrew Hayes self spun in turn one on lap 59. Hayes would line up at the tail of the field for the next restart. But uncharacteristically, Hayes spun out again on lap 66 and was forced to park due to the 2 caused caution rule.

All Will Goshen would have to do is finish the race to gain points on Hayes and would manage to do so by races end.

Pete Engelmanas would take the lead under this caution period and went on to lead the most laps.

A late race caution would fly with 10 laps to go and set up a wild finish. Differing pit strategies shuffled the running order. Josh Boyer decided to stay out, while Pete Engelmanas took 2 tires, Mike Husby and Will Goshen would take 4 tires.

The restart would come with 5 laps to go as Boyer led the field back to the green flag. Boyer would continue to lead until 4 laps to go when Pete Engelmanas ducked low in turn 1. The two never made contact (but did make warp contact), but sent Boyer’s car around in front of the field. Engelmanas and Goshen would make it through while Husby, Boyer and Josh S scrambled to get back going in the right direction.

Caution would not fly though as Engelmanas and Goshen would battle hard for the lead in the closing laps. Engelmanas would make a move under Goshen off of turn 2 with two laps to go as Engelmanas would not look back.

Engelmanas would return to victory for the first time since Sun Valley Speedway to win the Z-Line Designs 150. Will Goshen finishes 2nd, Mike Husby 3rd, Josh Boyer 4th, and Josh S would round out the top 5.

Will Goshen takes the points lead back by 22 points over Andrew Hayes going into the final 2 races. Next week the series heads to Riverside Speedway in Antigonish, NS for the Komatsu 150!

STICKLEY COUNTINES HOT STREAK IN IOWA

July 13th, 2010 --
The CASCOR Super Car Series returned to action Monday night at the Iowa Speedway.

Aaron Levin and Pete Engelmanas led the 20 car field to the green flag. Pete Engelmanas would take the lead from Levin early on, only to lose the lead to Frankie Stickley just a few short laps later.

Late in the race, the final restart came with 29 laps to go. Frankie Stickley led Richard Davidowitz, Pete Engelmanas, Mike Husby, and Andrew Hayes back to green flag racing.

Stickley would get a good restart, extending his lead to about 10 car lengths in 2 laps. Davidowitz would mount a charge on several occasions throughout the run, closing in on Stickley’s rear bumper.

As the battle for the lead wore on, so to did the battle for 3rd. Pete Engelmanas and Mike Husby would attempt to wear each other out in the final laps, and with 7 laps to go Engelmanas would get loose off of turn four as Husby dove low to try and get by.

The next lap Husby would attempt to get under Engelmanas once again in turn 1, but paid the price as Engelmanas got loose off of turn 2, turning Husby towards the inside wall. Husby would tag the wall but came back to finish 10th.

Stickley would pull away from Davidowitz and went on to win the Prairie Meadows 100. Richard Davidowitz finishes 2nd, Engelmanas 3rd, Auz Grams 4th and Aaron Levin rounded out the top 5.

Tyler Tucker now leads Andrew Hayes by 10 points and Mike Husby falls from 2nd to 3rd in points now 30 points behind. As the season winds down, three drivers look to be in contention for the championship. Who can stay the most consistent for the rest of the season? We'll just have to wait and see.

The Super Car Series returns to action next week for the Tim Richmond Memorial 150 at the Mansfield Motorsports Park. Don’t miss out on all the action!

STICKLEY WINS NAPA AUTO PRO 100

July 7th, 2010 --
When the Canadian Tire Series rolled into Montreal, the drivers were ready to take to the track for the first time and try to take home the bragging rights of winning the final road course event of the 2010 season.

Brent Sweet and Frankie Stickley led the field to the green flag. Stickley would take over the lead early on and went on to lead the most laps (19) in the event. Sweet would manage to lead 2 laps after staying out on a restart early in the race. Andrew Hayes would also lead after the second caution by using pit strategy to take the lead.

While Mike Husby who restarted 2nd behind Hayes, stacked the field up before the start finish line by blowing 3rd gear. Hayes would be able to jump out to a marginal lead while the field would scramble to avoid the slow moving car of Husby. Pete Engelmanas would get a tap in turn 1 from Husby as a result, but would manage to rally back for a top 5 finish.

Frankie Stickley would take the lead back from Hayes and never looked back as he went on to win the NAPA Auto Pro 100. Andrew Hayes would finish a strong 2nd, Josh Boyer 3rd, Pete Engelmanas rallied back to finish 4th and Will Goshen rounded out the top 5.

Andrew Hayes takes the points lead back and extends it to 11 points over Will Goshen. As the season winds to a close, this sea saw battle for the points lead is providing one of the best championship battles in CASCOR history.

With the road and street courses out the way, its time to go back oval track racing. Who will come out on top at Barrie? And can anyone stay consistent enough to pull away in the point’s championship? Find out next week as the Canadian Tire Series heads back to Barrie Speedway for the Z-Line Designs 150!

SWEET/GOSHEN WIN FIRECRACKER TWIN 50'S

July 6th, 2010 --
As the CASCOR Modified Tour returned to the famous Bowman Gray Stadium, the format for the race would change just slightly, in an attempt to make it a little more exciting.

The regular 100 lap event was split into two 50 lap segments. The driver that won the first 50 lap segment would have to restart the second 50 lapper from the tail of the field.

Brent Sweet would start on pole for the first 50 lap race and jump out to an early lead. Five caution flags slowed the event, but no one would be able to get by Brent Sweet as he would take the win of the first Twin 50. Dave Collard would finish 2nd, Jeff French 3rd, Josh Boyer 4th and Pete Engelmanas would round out the top 5. Sweet would start from the tail of the field in segment 2.

Will Goshen who finished at the tail of the field in race #1, would take pole when the field was inverted for race #2. Goshen would take the early lead as once again, 5 cautions would slow segment 2. Goshen would dominate the race leading all but one lap to take the win of the second Twin 50. Dave Collard would go two for two finishing 2nd, Jeff French 3rd, Brent Sweet would come back to finish 4th and Josh Boyer would round out the top 5.

Next time the Modified Tour hits the track will be at the twists and turns of Lime Rock Park for the first annual Lime Rock 50!

DAVIDOWITZ DOMINATES NEW HAMPSHIRE

June 29th, 2010 --
Richard Davidowitz would take the win after a wild 4 lap dash for the checkers at New Hampshire. Davidowitz would pull away on the final restart as the rest of the field would duke it out for 2nd position.

Brent Sweet, Pete Engelmanas and Justin Strumpf made it 3 wide through turn 1 and 2 with two laps to go. As a result it jumbled up the rest of the pack behind and a wild crash on the final lap sent 2 cars sailing through the air as the rest of the field raced back to the line.

Davidowitz would take the win followed by Brent Sweet 2nd, Ben Althen 3rd, Auz Grams 4th and Will Goshen the points leader, rounded out the top 5.

WIDELITZ WINS VIRGINIA 150

March 30th, 2010 --
The Super Car Series made its way to the first short track race of the season at Martinsville Speedway, in Martinsville, VA.

Harrison Widelitz would begin the night on pole along side Tyler Tucker, leading the 12 car field to the green flag. Widelitz would jump out to a large early lead before the caution flew on lap 6 for a spinning Matt Trace. Trace would end up getting tapped by Bryan Bell sending him spinning in turns 3 and 4 collecting Pete Engelmanas in the wreck.

Brent Sweet, Mike Garaguso and Pete Engelmanas would all pit under caution for 4 tires and fuel. Tyler Tucker, Matt Trace and Josh Tew would follow suit the following lap.

Widelitz would once again lead the field back to green on lap 12. The caution would come out once again when Mike Garaguso got into Will Goshen off of turn 4, bringing out the 2nd caution of the night.

Andrew Hayes would lead Brent Sweet, Pete Engelmanas and Will Goshen down pit road for tires and fuel. Widelitz would lead the field back to green on lap 21.

The field would manage to get pretty spread out over the course of the 27 lap run. The caution would come out for the third time when Mike Garaguso got into the back of Mike Husby, who was attempting to get around the lapped car of Josh Tew. Husby’s car would flip over in turn 3 dropping him 2 laps down by the time he was able to return to the track.

Widelitz would continue to lead, bringing the field back to the green once again on lap 53. The caution would fly for the 4th time for a self spinning Matt Trace, allowing Mike Husby to receive one of his two laps back.

Pete Engelmanas, Andrew Hayes and Will Goshen would pit under caution for tires and fuel. Widelitz and Stickley would pit the next lap along with Josh Tew for tires and fuel as well.

Widelitz would keep the lead as Pete Engelmanas would have a speeding penalty requiring him to line up behind Widelitz and Stickley on the restart. Widelitz would lead the field back to green on lap 77.

The 5th caution of the night came out for another solo spin by Matt Trace. Trace would be asked to park after causing his 2nd caution of the night. Adding fuel to the fire Trace would turn his rival Tyler Tucker around under caution and was forced to park and report to the big red truck following the completion of the race.

Widelitz and Stickley would pit once again under this caution period handing the lead over to Pete Engelmanas. Mike Husby would get back on the lead lap as a result of the caution.

Pete Engelmanas would lead the field back to green with 60 laps to go. The caution would come out for the 6th time as a jam up in turn 2 consumed Will Goshen, Harrison Widelitz and Frankie Stickley.

Widelitz and Goshen would pit under this caution to change tires and repair any minor damage they may have suffered in the wreck.

Pete Engelmanas would lead the field back to green with 54 laps to go. Frankie Stickley would get by Engelmanas for the lead on lap 106 (45 laps to go). A hard charging Widelitz would take the lead back on lap 111.

The caution would come out once again 17 laps later for a self spinning Pete Engelmanas off of turn 4. When the pits opened the leaders of Widelitz, Stickley and Engelmanas would make their way down pit road for 4 fresh tires and would be able to go the rest of the way on fuel.

Mike Husby gambled on staying out and would inherit the lead. Husby would lead the field back to green with 22 laps to go.

Husby’s gamble would not pay off as he lost the lead to Widelitz with 21 laps to go. Husby would lose 3 more spots falling to 5th.

Widelitz would pull away from Stickley and went on to win the Virginia 150 at Martinsville. Stickley would finish 2nd, Pete Englemanas 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th and Mike Husby rounded out the top 5.

The Super Car series seems stronger than ever, and looks to continue to be that way for the rest of the season. Can anyone keep Frankie Stickley or Harrison Widelitz out of victory lane? Find out next time when the series heads to North Wilkesboro Speedway for the North Wilkesboro 150!

GOSHEN WINS FIRST RACE AT BOWMAN GRAY

March 23rd, 2010 --
The CASCOR league rolled out a new division on Monday’s when the Super Car Series has off weeks. The CASCOR Modified Tour would make its debut at the Bowman Gray Stadium to get things started.

Brent Sweet and Frankie Stickley led the 9 car field to the inaugural green flag for the CASCOR Modified Tour.

The caution came out right away, when Matt Trace and Tyler Tucker got together in turn 1, slowing the field for the first time of the night. Matt Trace and Pete Engelmanas would pit under this caution for 4 fresh tires.

Brent Sweet would lead the field back to the green flag. Sweet and Stickley would pull out to a large lead over the rest of the field early on.

Sweet would slip up the track on lap 10 handing the lead over to Frankie Stickley for the first time of the night.

Caution would fly for a second time, when Brent Sweet shoved Frankie Stickley around off of turn four on lap 30. Sweet would have to line up at the tail end of the field as Frankie Stickley would also pit with him under this caution.

Will Goshen would assume the lead and bring the field back to the green on lap 36. The caution would come out once again when Pete Engelmanas and Matt Trace got together in turn four bringing out the 3rd caution of the night.

Goshen would once again the lead the field back to green on lap 47. As the racing went on, many drivers were starting to lose control of their cars coming off the corners. Mike Husby would noticeably start to lose control of his car, running 3rd at the time. Husby would slide out of the groove giving up 2 positions to Stickley and Engelmanas on lap 56.

The caution would come out again with Husby not anticipating Stickley to brake so quickly. Husby would get into the back of Stickley as Engelmanas got into the back of Husby, turning Husby around. This would bring out the caution for the fourth time of the night on lap 67.

Frankie Stickley, Mike Husby and Johnny Williams would pit under this caution. Husby and Williams would fall 1 lap down as a result of pitting.

Goshen holding onto a steady lead would bring the field back to green with 29 laps to go. But the caution would fly for the fifth time of the night as Stickley, Husby and Sweet would get together in turn 3.

The officials deemed it a racing deal, after Husby had gotten stuck in the wall at the pit road exit, bringing out the caution with 19 laps to go.

Will Goshen would continue to lead, pacing the field back to green with 14 laps to go. Frankie Stickley would turn Pete Engelmanas around with 7 laps to go, bringing the out the sixth caution of the night.

The race would get restarted with Will Goshen leading the field back to the green with 3 laps to go.

Caution would fly for the final time when Pete Engelmanas and Matt Trace got together off of turn 2, turning Traces car over on its roof, collecting Brent Sweet, Frankie Stickley and Mike Husby in the mess.

Will Goshen would collect his first CASCOR victory at the famed Bowman Gray Stadium as the race would finish under caution. Tyler Tucker finishes 2nd, Johnny Williams brought his car home 3rd after being a lap down early in the race. Brent Sweet finished 4th and Pete Engelmanas rounded out the top 5.

The Modified Series had somewhat of a rough start to the season with tempers already flaring. Will Goshen looks to be a contender this season with his win at Bowman Gray. Find out on April 5th if he’ll return to victory lane or if someone else can take the checkered flag. The Ice Breaker at Thompson International Speedway is the next race on the Modified Tour, you won’t want to miss it!

TUCKER SAVES BEST FOR LAST AT CAPITAL CITY

March 22nd, 2010 -- With the season winding down to the final race, the championship point’s battle may have been locked up before anyone got to the track. But there was still one more race to run and it wouldn’t disappoint.

Heat #1 got under way with Brent Sweet and Mike Husby the top 2 in point’s, leading Tyler Tucker to the green flag. Sweet would jump out to an early lead, leading all 10 laps to bring home his 4th heat race win of the season. Husby finishes 2nd and Tyler Tucker would finish 3rd.

Heat #2 would get under way shortly after with Johnny Williams and Andrew Hayes leading Frankie Stickley, in the final heat race of the season to the green flag. Johnny Williams would jump out to an early lead, while Frankie Stickley would get by Andrew Hayes for 2nd on lap one.

Stickley would try to get by Williams for 3 laps before making slight contact with Williams car off of turn two, bringing out the first caution of the race.

Stickley would get by Hayes with 6 laps to go and would hold on to win Heat #2. Hayes finishes 2nd and Williams would come across the line in 3rd.

The season drawing to a close, it was time for the drivers to fire up the engines for the final 50 lap A Feature of the season.

Tyler Tucker and Brent Sweet would lead the field down to the green flag. Tyler Tucker took the lead early, while the field in the back made things interesting right off the bat.

Mike Husby overdrove turn three on lap 5 sliding up the hill and made slight contact with the wall. This opened the door for Stickley, Williams and Hayes to get under Husby, dropping him back to 6th.

Husby would manage to get by both, Hayes and Williams by lap 12, with the running order staying the same for the top three drivers. The caution would come out for the first time, when Frankie Stickley spun his car off of turn 2.

No one would put under the caution, as the field would try to tough it out for the final 30 laps.

Tyler Tucker would once again lead Brent Sweet back to the green flag. Tucker and Sweet would open up a large lead on the rest of the field until 10 laps to go, when Mike Husby and Frankie Stickley would close the gap to one second off of the leader.

The last lap was nothing short of amazing as Tyler Tucker would bounce his car off the turn four wall, with Brent Sweet shoving the 7 car around backwards before the start finish line.

The wreck also involved, the 3rd place running car of Mike Husby as well as the 4th place running car of Frankie Stickley, making it one of the most exciting finishes in CASCOR History.

It would also be the new closest margin of victory in CASCOR History with Tucker taking the win by .001 thousandths of a second backwards, over Brent Sweet. Mike Husby would finish 3rd, Stickley 4th and Andrew Hayes rounded out the top 5.

With the season ending just as exciting as the start of the season, the Late Model Series showed all season, that tempers would flare and the racing would be intense. The CASCOR Administration would like to thank all that participated in the Late Model Series and would also like to thank our series sponsor Tuckgraphics.com for their support as well.

Brent Sweet brought home the championship 81 points ahead of Mike Husby, Andrew Hayes brought his #87 home a 3rd place points finish. Tyler Tucker winning 6 Heat races (the most of any driver) ended the season 4th in points. And Johnny Williams would finish his season off 5th in points.

We hope to see more people involved in the Late Model Series next year, to make it even more interesting than it was this year. Have a great spring and summer season!

STICKLEY WINS AS HUSBY CLOSES THE GAP

March 17th, 2010 --
With only two races left it appeared as Brent Sweet had a comfortable lead heading into Barrie Speedway. But could he hold onto it? Or would Husby be able to close the gap?

The night got underway as Matt Trace and Ben Althen would lead the field to green in Heat #1. Trace would get turned around on lap 1 when he attempted to try and get back in line in turn 4, spinning off of the corner. That would bring out the caution for the first time in the event.

Frankie Stickley retired from the race with handling problems. Tyler Tucker would take over the lead and bring the field back to the restart. Tucker would jump out to an early lead while Matt Trace would slip past Ben Althen for 2nd in turn three. Trace would get spun around once again bringing out the caution for the second time of the race.

The final restart would come with 3 laps to go. Tucker would lead Matt Trace and Ben Althen back to the green. Tucker would hold on to win his 6th heat race of the season. Matt Trace finishes 2nd, Ben Althen 3rd and Frankie Stickley would end up 4th with handling problems.

Heat #2 would get underway shortly after, with Josh Tew and Andrew Hayes leading the field to the green. While the point’s leaders Brent Sweet and Mike Husby started from the rear of the field.

Josh Tew would take the early lead with Husby sliding into 2nd and Sweet into 3rd. Hayes would drop back to 4th from his 2nd place starting position.

Brent Sweet would make slight contact with the right rear of Husby’s car sending Sweet’s car into the outside wall in turn 4. Sweet’s car would turn back across the track into the on-coming car of Andrew Hayes bringing out the first caution of the race.

Josh Tew would suffer steering problems under this caution and would be forced to retire from the race.

Husby would inherit the lead with Hayes and Sweet looking to pounce at any moment, on the restart with 5 laps to go.

Sweet would make quite a daring pass inside of Hayes with 3 laps to go, moving him into 2nd place with a chance to run down Mike Husby for the win. Sweet would run out of time as Husby would hold on to win his first Heat race of the season. Sweet finishes 2nd, Hayes 3rd and Josh Tew would finish 4th with his steering problems.

Now that the heats were over, it was time for the second to last A Feature race of the 2010 season. Matt Trace and Tyler Tucker would make up the front row.

The racing got pretty wild right off the bat as Tyler Tucker would lead lap 1. But Matt Trace wanted the lead back and would make slight contact with Tyler Tucker moving him out of the way in turn 2 of lap two, making the pass for the lead.

Trace would hold on to lead 6 laps before Tyler Tucker, looking to get back at Trace, would return the favor on lap 7, running Trace out of room in turn 4. Tucker would take the lead once again, for the second time of the race. Trace would blend back into line in fourth place.

The caution would fly for the first time when Matt Trace would get turned around when he braked a little earlier into turn 1. Husby not expecting, got into Trace and spun him around. CASCOR officials as well as the drivers involved deemed it a racing deal and neither driver was penalized for the inicident.

The majority of the field would come into the pits under this caution for tires and fuel. Mike Husby would be the only driver to stay out and would pick up the lead. Husby would lead Ben Althen, Tyler Tucker, Matt Trace and Brent Sweet back to the restart with 41 laps to go.

Althen would slip up in turn three on lap 21, making Tyler Tucker check up for Althen. Matt Trace would make the most of it and pass them both, taking over second place for the time being.

Caution would come out for a second time on lap 27 when Tyler Tucker locked up his brakes going into turn 1, taking Frankie Stickley with him. Stickley wasn’t please and spun Tucker out on the back stretch in retaliation.

Frankie Stickley, Brent Sweet, Tyler Tucker and Bent Althen would all pit for tires under this caution. Husby, Trace and Andrew Hayes would all stay out to gain track position.

Husby would lead Trace, Hayes, Stickley and championship point’s leader Brent Sweet to the green flag with 28 laps to go. Hayes would get loose on the restart and drop back to fourth in turn 2.

Tyler Tucker would once again get into Matt Trace spinning him out in turn 3, bringing out the caution for the third time of the race on lap 47. Tucker would be asked to park after the incident according to CASCOR rules.

Frankie Stickley, Ben Althen and Matt Trace would take this opportunity to pit under caution.

Brent Sweet would fall out of the server with 7 laps to go while running in second place. Sweet would return with 2 laps to go and finish the race in seventh, 5 laps down.

Husby would lead Andrew Hayes, Frankie Stickley, Ben Althen and Matt Trace back to the green with 7 laps to go. Stickley would make quick work of Hayes right off the restart and pass Husby for the lead with 5 laps to go.

Brent Sweet would come back on the track with 3 laps to go and get into his teammate and BS Enterprises driver Matt Trace to bring out the final caution of the night.

Frankie Stickley would hold on to win the Grisdale Racing Products 60. Mike Husby finishes 2nd, Andrew Hayes 3rd, Ben Althen 4th, and Matt Trace would round out the top 5 after a bad night.

Brent Sweet after falling out of the server has fallen to a 71 point lead over Husby going into the final race of the season. All Sweet needs to do is start the race next week and will clinch the championship regardless of what Husby does.

Who will win the final race of the season? Can Tyler Tucker get his 7th Heat win of the season? Can anyone that hasn’t won this season pull off the upset? Find out next week when the drivers go to the Capital City Speedway for the Can-Am Championship 50!

SWEET EXTENDS POINT LEAD WITH WIN

March 8th, 2010 -- With the season winding down the championship is coming down to the wire with Husby trying to make a late season charge for the title. But would it continue? Or would Brent Sweet be able to capitalize and extend his lead?

The night started out with Heat #1 taking to the track. Johnny Williams and Tyler Tucker led the field to the green flag. Right off the start Williams and Tucker made contact off of turn 2 on the first lap. Brent Sweet would benefit from it as he would slide into 2nd, Husby would move into 3rd as well.

Sweet started getting impatient around Tucker and started to try and find his way by. As a result Sweet would get loose off of turn 4, giving second place to Husby, but not for long. Husby and Sweet would make contact in turn 1 and 2, with Sweet giving Husby a little nudge. Husby would get sideways off of turn 2, making slight contact with Sweets door sending Husby into the outside wall. Husby would flip over and continue on to finish 3rd.

Tyler Tucker would pull off the win in Heat #1, his fifth heat win of the season. Brent Sweet would wind up 2nd, Husby 3rd and Johnny Williams would round out the finishing order in 4th.

Heat #2 got under way next with Frankie Stickley and Andrew Hayes leading the field to green. Aaron Levin was unable to get his car ready in time to take the green flag.

Andrew Hayes and Matt Trace would get together on lap 2 bringing out the caution for the first and only time in the race. On the restart Stickley would pull away from Hayes and Trace. Hayes would get close to Stickley but not close enough and Stickley would win Heat #2.

It was now feature time, and Brent Sweet for the first time this season would inherit the pole when Aaron Levin continued to have problems, parking his car for the feature. Andrew Hayes would start on the outside of the front row.

As the race got underway the action heated early on. Johnny Williams and Matt Trace would make contact in turn 2 as Williams got into the wall and was sent flying through the air. Bringing out the first caution of the night. No one would pit under this caution and Brent Sweet would lead the field back to the green flag.

The race would go without another caution until lap 36 when Johnny Williams would spin around for a second time. Mike Husby 2nd place in points, once again suffered connection problems, while also losing 2nd gear during the race would fall 3 laps down and finish a dismal 6th place.

Brent Sweet, who dominated the feature event, leading 53 laps, would lead the field back to green with 11 laps to go. Sweet would hold on to win his third feature race of the season. Frankie Stickley finishes 2nd, Andrew Hayes 3rd, Tyler Tucker 4th and Matt Trace would once again round out the top 5.

Unless something catastrophic happens to Sweet, he looks to be in a comfortable points lead (109 over Husby) with two races left. Can anyone bring home their first feature win in the final two races? Can anymore Canadian drivers keep the Americans out of victory lane at home? Find out as the CASCOR Can-Am Late Model Series drivers head to Barrie Speedway for the Grisdale Racing Products 50!

STICKLEY WINS TWO IN A ROW TO START SEASON

March 3rd, 2010 -- Although the Super Car Series started off the season with the closest finish in CASCOR history, the race at the Hutchinson Island Street Course was nothing short of wild and crazy. Frankie Stickley and Stickley Motorsports teammate Brent Sweet led the field to the green flag.

Trouble struck early as Mike Husby locked up his brakes on the back stretch, but it would not be enough to bring out the caution. Husby would have to pit and fall 1 lap down and would not make things any better bringing out the first caution of the night.

Most drivers would pit under this caution for tires and fuel, while rookie Matt Trace would stay out to lead a lap.

Frankie Stickley would take back the lead on the restart followed by Brent Sweet, Tyler Tucker, John Wall and Andrew Hayes. Caution would fly once again as Wall and Tucker would make contact in turn 1, sending Tucker into the outside wall.

Stickley again would lead the field back to the restart and would appear untouchable for most of the race, leading the most laps. The caution would come out once again when John Wall tried to avoid Mike Husby’s car, that made contact with the outside wall in turn 1. Wall got together with Josh Tew as a result, bringing out the caution with 20 laps to go. Stickley would lead the field down pit road as Bryan Bell stayed out to lead a lap under this caution period.

Stickley would once again lead the field back to green with 17 laps to go. Mike Husby notably back on the lead lap seemed to be moving up from 6th to 4th in two laps. Matt Trace would get together with Andrew Hayes heading into the first set of esses bringing out the caution with 15 laps to go.

The majority of the field would pit for the final time as Husby and Wall would stay out for track position, but it would not pay off in the long run.

Husby led the field back to the green, while the field would scramble for position heading into turn 1. Husby would hold onto the lead until the back straightaway, when Stickley would take it back. Husby would continue to fall back until he dropped out of the race with 5 laps to go.

Stickley would hold off a hard charging Brent Sweet to win the Tuckgraphics.com 75. Brent Sweet finishes 2nd, Tyler Tucker 3rd, John Wall 4th and Matt Trace in his first race back in NR2003 rounded out the top 5.

Frankie Stickley seems to be picking up right where he left off last season. Can anyone stop him before he gets too big of a lead? And can any of the rookies pull off a win this year? Find out next time, when the Super Car Series heads to Martinsville, VA for the Virginia 150.

HUSBY WINS TWO IN A ROW

March 3rd, 2010 -- As the TuckGraphics.com Can Am Late Model Series season winds down, a late resurgence by Mike Husby seems to be making the final 3 races something to remember.

Heat 1 saw Will Goshen and Andrew Hayes start on the front row leading the field to the green flag. Goshen would pull out to the early lead with Husby and Hayes trailing in his rear view mirror. Caution would come out for the first time in the race when Husby made contact with teammate Will Goshen off of turn 2.

Andrew Hayes would inherit the lead and lead the field back to green with 6 laps to go. On the restart Husby would attempt to make a move up high on Goshen but the move would not pay off. Husby then dove down low, the next lap, while Goshen got loose at the same time. Goshen’s car would go spinning around for a second time bringing out the caution once again.

This would set up a wild finish with Hayes leading the field back to a green-white-checker. Three quarters of a lap after the restart, Husby would give Hayes a nudge in the rear almost spinning Hayes out. Hayes would save his car from spinning and keep the lead. With Husby having to let out of the gas, Will Goshen found an opening and dove under Husby, but was not able to pass him for the spot. Husby would manage to get by Goshen in turn 1.

Hayes with a comfortable lead looked to be running away with it, until Husby gave it one last shot with 1 lap to go. Husby drove his car into turn 3 extremely deep, and once again would almost get into Hayes. Instead of wrecking Hayes, Husby would loop his car around dropping to 3rd place on the last lap.

Hayes wins heat #1, his first heat win of the season. Will Goshen would bring his #64 car back to a 2nd place finish and Husby fell to 3rd on the final lap rounding out the finishing order.

Newcomer Chris Swett would start on the pole along side Johnny Williams in heat 2. Swett would manage to lead the race up until turn 4, where he got loose in front of the field and fell back to 3rd. Johnny Williams would take over the lead on lap 2, leading 2 laps before Brent Sweet slipped by to take over the top spot.

The caution would come out for the first time as Chris Swett spun off of turn 4 with 3 laps to go. Sweet would lead the field back to the green with Williams 2nd and Swett 3rd.

Sweet would lead the rest of the way and pick up his 4th heat race win of the season. Johnny Williams would come across the line 2nd and Swett with handling problems finished 3rd.

It was then time for the feature and Johnny Williams and Will Goshen would lead the 6 car field to the green flag.

Husby who started 3rd would get under Goshen and ride behind Williams for the first 4 laps of the race. Husby once again misjudged and made contact with the rear end of Williams’ car. Williams would save his car and hang onto the lead, but went spinning off of turn 4 that same lap, but would not bring out a caution.

Chris Swett would bring out the first caution of the night spinning off of turn four on lap 5. Championship point’s leader Brent Sweet made his way up to 4th place by the time the first caution waved. Sweet, Williams and Swett would all come down pit road for tires and fuel.

Husby led the field back to the green flag with 39 laps to go. On the restart Will Goshen would attempt to pass Husby, but would not complete the pass and fell back in line behind him. Andrew Hayes would make contact with Goshen sending him spinning into the turn 1 wall bringing out the second caution of the night.

This would allow Brent Sweet to slide up into 2nd place in the running order at this time. Will Goshen would pit for tires as well as Andrew Hayes under this caution.

Husby once again would lead the field back to green with 32 laps to go. Husby and Sweet would pull out to a huge lead over 3rd place Johnny Williams about 4 laps after the restart.

The battle for the lead heated up as Sweet and Husby were driving the wheels off their cars. Sweet would try everything he could to get inside or outside of Husby, but Husby would continue to hold his line. As the tires started to wear down, the leaders became looser and looser coming off the corners.

Sweet would loop his car around with 17 laps to go, bringing out the 3rd caution of the night. Sweet as a result would have to start from the rear of the field on the restart, making his chances for a win look slim.

Husby would once again lead the field back to green with 11 laps to go. Sweet would end up restarting in 4th, with 2 cars more than 1 lap down also having to start from the rear of the field. Sweet would quickly make his way back to the front.

With 8 laps to go Husby had pulled out to a 1.28 second lead over Brent Sweet, but would get a little squirrelly in turn 3, almost spinning out of the lead, losing some of his large lead to a hard charging Brent Sweet.

Although he may have slipped up, Husby would hold off all the charges thrown at him by Brent Sweet and went on to win his 2nd race in a row. Brent Sweet would finish a close 2nd, Johnny Williams 3rd, Will Goshen 4th and Andrew Hayes would round out the top 5.

Again Husby managed to dig into Sweet's point's lead, now only 62 points behind. Can he make it closer? Or will he run out of time? Can anyone keep Brent Sweet out of the top 5 or will he continue his dominance? Find out next week when the series heads to Peterborough Speedway for the NAPA Auto Pro 50.

HUSBY WINS RAIN SHORTENED RACE

February 22nd, 2010 --
While Toledo may have been the lowest car count of the season, it was time to get back to the regular program at the Delaware Speedway in London, Ontario Canada.

Heat 1 started off the night with Will Goshen and Johnny Williams starting on the front row. Williams would jump out to the early lead as Andrew Hayes would look under Goshen in turn 3, but would not get around Goshen until turn 1 of the next lap.

Trying to make a race out of it, Hayes would drive his car into the corners deeper and deeper to try and catch Williams. Hayes would close up to Williams, to about 4 car lengths behind him with 2 laps to go. It wouldn’t be enough as Williams would cruise to victory in heat #1, Hayes finishes 2nd, and Will Goshen would end up 3rd.

Heat 2 would get under way with Brent Sweet and Tyler Tucker leading the way to the green flag. Sweet would get a bad start but still manage to hold the lead, getting to the inside of Tucker before turn 1. Caution would come out for the first time as Mike Husby would send Tyler Tucker spinning in turns 3 and 4.

Restart would come with a green-white-checker finish with Sweet leading the way. Tyler Tucker would get a jump on Sweet on the restart and would hold on for the victory. Sweet would finish 2nd and Husby 3rd.

Now that that heat races were complete the feature race was sure to be exciting. Andrew Hayes would start on the pole for the first time this year and would start along side Tyler Tucker.

Hayes would jump out to the early lead and lead a total of 12 laps during the event. Caution would fly for the first time for a spin back in the pack. A few drivers would pit under this caution for tires and fuel.

Andrew Hayes would lead the field back to the green followed by Husby and others. Husby would manage to get by Hayes on the restart and hold onto the lead until a caution came out with 7 laps to go. Husby and the majority of the field would stay out as Will Goshen would retire from the race with transmission trouble.

A sudden rain storm ended the race with 4 laps to go with Husby leading in the lead at the time of the red flag. The rain wouldn’t let up and Husby would win his first race since August of 2009. Brent Sweet finishes 2nd, Tyler Tucker 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th and Johnny Williams would round out the top 5.

With Husby shrinking Sweets points lead just a little bit, it looks like Husby could make a charge at the championship. Can he reel him in? Can Brent Sweet keep up his top 5 finish run? Can anyone else pull off a surprise upset? Find out next week as the TuckGraphics.com Can Am Late Model Series drivers head to Kawartha Downs for the Dodge Dealers of Ontario 50!

STICKLEY WINS LUCAS OIL SLICK MIST 200!

February 16th, 2010 --
The CASCOR Super Car Series opened the season in wild fashion, with a great race and a wild finish.

Eleven cars would start the 2nd Annual Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 with Aaron Levin and Brent Sweet leading the field to the first green flag of 2010. Mike Husby would take over the lead on lap 1 from pole sitter Aaron Levin.

Andrew Hayes would dive under Husby coming off of turn 2 the next lap to take over the lead. Johnny Williams would make a bid for the lead on the high side, and take over the lead on lap 3. Aaron Levin in an un-sponsored #91 Monte Carlo would get a bump draft gone wrong from Bertus De Jong and went sailing into the inside wall on the Super Stretch. That would be the end of Levin’s night, but would not bring out a caution.

Seven lead changes occurred in the first 10 laps of the race (20 lead changes overall between 9 drivers). The racing would start settling down 10 laps into the race as the field would become single file. Pit stops were soon to come as the field had run 14 laps of green flag racing. Johnny Williams, Mike Husby and Andrew Hayes would make their stops on lap 14. Williams was caught speeding entering the pits and would have to come back in to serve his penalty. Husby and Hayes would have flawless stops and come out of the pits together.

On lap 15, Jordan Robson, Frankie Stickley, Brent Sweet and Tyler Tucker pitted together for tires and fuel. Robson with an amazingly fast stop would get out of the pits well ahead of the drivers he came down pit road with.

The field would get completely strung out after pit stops, but would close back together as the first caution would come out after 20 laps of green flag racing for debris. Mike Husby and Andrew Hayes would draft by Jordan Robson prior to the caution coming out. Husby would lead the field down pit road to top off on fuel, while Brent Sweet and Josh Tew would stay out. Frankie Stickley won the race off pit road, followed by Hayes, Husby and Brian Eutsler.

Josh Tew would lead the field back to green, with Frankie Stickley, Mike Husby, Andrew Hayes and Brian Eutsler running close behind. Stickley and the majority of the field would leave Tew hung out to dry on the low line. Once Stickley cleared Tew he went to dive low in front of him. But Husby and the rest of the group up high attempted to pass Stickley for the lead, but would be unsuccessful.

The caution would fly once again as Andrew Hayes would blow an engine off of turn 2. There were a couple of close calls while he was trying to come down the track in front of the other half of the field, almost taking out a few drivers. Hayes and Brent Sweet would make contact sending Sweet into the outside wall with minor damage. One lap after the caution had been waved; Brian Eutlser’s engine expired under caution.

Frankie Stickley would once again lead the field down pit road, while Bertus De Jong would stay out to lead a lap. De Jong would lead the field back to green on lap 29.

What came next was highly unexpected as De Jong would block pretty wildly to keep the lead ahead of Stickley. Johnny Williams made an attempt at taking over the lead from De Jong on lap 30 and would go spinning into the infield, setting up a 3 car wreck. Williams, Goshen and Robson would get involved in the melee bringing out the 3rd caution of the night.

Stickley would inherit the lead and bring the field down pit road once again. Johnny Williams had some ill feelings toward De Jong and would get together with him coming into pit road. Williams would retire from the race, but De Jong would continue with damage. Mike Husby would win the race off of pit road but almost hit the inside wall exiting the pits. Tyler Tucker would come out 2nd, Stickley 3rd and Sweet 4th.

Some drivers were noticeably having issues during the race. Will Goshen appeared to have a misfire in his #64 Monte Carlo SS. “The car would get up to speed and then just lose 10-15mph out of nowhere!” – Goshen said in a post race interview.

Josh Tew would lead the field back to green and would relinquish the lead one again to Mike Husby. Tyler Tucker would take a shot at leading the next lap on lap 34 and would complete the pass on Mike Husby.

The racing was intense but would get quite strung out thru the remainder of the race. The final lap was nothing short of exciting as Stickley Motorsports team mates would battle it out for victory. Frankie Stickley in 2nd would make a charge on the outside of Robson in turn 3. Sneaking up on the outside Stickley got a run off the corner and it was a drag race to the finish line.

Stickley and Robson made some slight contact about 100 feet before entering the tri oval. Stickley would hold his line and Robson attempting to gain a little more distance in the tri oval, attempted to hit the apron but would come up just .003 thousandths of a second short.

Stickley wins his 2nd Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 in 2 years. Robson misses winning his first 200 by mere inches coming home 2nd. Husby would bring it solidly home in 3rd and run out of gas on the back stretch after taking the checkered flag. Tyler Tucker would run out of gas in the middle of 3 and 4 on the last lap brining it home 4th. And Will Goshen, misfire and all, would round out the top 5.

With the season getting off to another wild start, can anyone contend with Frankie Stickley who dominated the season last year? Will we see a new face in victory lane at the Hutchinson Island Street Course? Find out March 1st as the Super Car Series makes its first road course stop of the season!

SWEET DOMINATES AT TOLEDO

February 15th, 2010 --
This Sunday the CASCOR TuckGraphics.com Can Am Late Model Series stopped by the Toledo Speedway for the Menards 50. Unfortunately only 5 drivers showed up for the event. With low car counts the series could possibly close down. But for this night, it was still alive and kicking.

The CASCOR officials decided because of the low car count, that cars would start on their qualifying times. Brent Sweet won the pole and would start along side Mike Husby.

Toledo Speedway once again put on a caution free race. The field would get pretty spread out around the track and stay that way for the rest of the race. Tyler Tucker fell out of the race due to electrical issues (warp) and would be the only car to retire from the race.

Andrew Hayes would end up 1 lap down near the end of the race, as Brent Sweet was on a tear, laying down some blistering laps.

Sweet led all 50 laps and held on to win the Menards 50. Mike Husby finished 2nd, Will Goshen 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th, and Tyler Tucker rounded out the finishing order in 5th.

With dwindling car counts, the status of the TuckGraphics.com Late Model series could soon become a memory. If you would like to run in the Late Model series please sign up in the Late Model series discussion thread.

On the other hand, Brent Sweet leads the points by 95 over Mike Husby. Can anyone stop Sweet’s dominance? Can Mike Husby finally get back in victory lane? And will there be any new surprise winners in the remaining races? Find out next week as the Late Model Series heads north to the Delaware Speedway for the Delaware 100!

STICKLEY WINS TWO IN A ROW AT MOTOR MILE

February 1st, 2010 --
With the season starting to close in on half way, the Can-Am Late Model series has produced some wild racing action with some tempers flaring and some bent up sheet metal.

Heat #1 got under way with Tyler Tucker and Brent Sweet leading the field to the green flag. Mike Husby who started last (4th place), would be the only driver to advance a position in the race passing Michael Moore for 3rd early on. The drivers got too tight to make any passes and would stay pretty evenly spread out. Tyler Tucker wins his 3rd heat race of the season, followed closely by Brent Sweet, Mike Husby and Michael Moore would round out the top 4.

Heat #2 would see Frankie Stickley and Will Goshen lead the field to the green. The race was pretty un-eventful as Frankie Stickley would go on to win heat #2, followed by Will Goshen and Andrew Hayes would come home 3rd.

After some pretty un-eventful heat races, many wondered if it was going to be more of the same in the feature race. The drivers proved that there would be a lot more racing in the feature race, as the wild action was just about to get under way.

Frankie Stickley won his first pole of the year starting along side Andrew Hayes. Brent Sweet the current Late Model Series point’s leader would start at the tail of the field in the 7th position.

As the race got under way, everyone seemed to be pretty aggressive early on in the race. Mike Husby who started 3rd would shoot under Hayes for 2nd as Tyler Tucker looked to get by Will Goshen for 4th on the high side on lap 1. After making slight contact with the wall Hayes would hand over 2nd after battling hard with Husby for position, Will Goshen would also slip by Hayes for 3rd. Tyler Tucker would also make it by Andrew Hayes one lap later on lap 4.

The field would manage to spread out, as Frankie Stickley and Mike Husby checked out on the rest of the field. Tyler Tucker and Will Goshen would battle it out for 3rd position, as Tucker would make the move under Goshen on lap 18, with Brent Sweet following Tucker thru for 4th.

An unorthodox warping Brent Sweet would disappear right as Goshen was coming back down the track and then re-appear sending Goshen spinning. Which would bring out the first caution of the night.

Tyler Tucker, Brent Sweet, Michael Moore and Will Goshen would all pit under this caution with 25 laps to go. Goshen ended up going a lap down, making repairs in the pits.

Stickley led the field back to green followed by, Husby, Hayes, Tucker and Moore. The field would get jumbled up on the restart after Husby made contact with Stickley’s rear bumper, stacking the field up behind the leaders. Everyone managed to keep their cars pointing in the right direction.

Caution would once again fly as Michael Moore‘s car was getting tight off the corner. He had to let out of the gas, with a fast Brent Sweet closing in 10mph faster coming of the corner. Giving Moore a tap, sending him into the inside wall with 11 laps to go.

Will Goshen was awarded the lucky dog and was supposed to be able to get back on the lead lap. CASCOR officials had a hard time communicating as they (Mike Husby and Frankie Stickley) gave Goshen a lap back at the same time on the restart. Goshen was then 1 lap ahead of the field. The admins had to put him back down 1 lap so he’d be at the rear of the field. Although the final results in the server showed that he was 1 lap down, CASCOR officials adjusted the results after the race was completed.

The last caution of the night would fly as Andrew Hayes, currently 2nd place in the point’s standings made contact with Brent Sweet warping once again. The caution would come out as the field was coming to take the white flag and the race would end under yellow.

Stickley appearing un-contested cruised home to victory, Husby finishes 2nd, Tyler Tucker 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th and Brent Sweet with all his warping issues rounded out the top 5.

Brent Sweet for the first time this season had some technical issues and brought the points just a little bit closer together. Will he continue to have problems? Or can he turn it around at Toledo? Can anyone catch Brent Sweet with the lead he’s built up in the standings? We’ll find out next week at the Menards 50 at the Toledo Speedway in Toledo, OH!

STICKLEY STEALS THE SHOW AT ACE

January 25th, 2010 --
After a wild few weeks with several cautions plaguing the feature races, it appeared as if it was about to happen again when things got under way at Ace Speedway.

Heat #1 got under way with Johnny Williams and Michael Moore leading the field to the green flag. Johnny Williams would jump to the early lead with Will Goshen and Mike Husby following thru to get by Michael Moore. Moore would give Husby a little nudge in turn 3, nothing that either driver couldn’t handle as they continued going the right direction.

The battle for second place would heat up as Will Goshen, Mike Husby, and Brent Sweet would duke it out for position. While battling for 3rd Sweet would get a little bit loose under Husby with Husby making slight contact with the outside wall, Sweet would save his slightly loose race car and continue on.

Will Goshen racing hard for the lead with Johnny Williams made contact with the #10 Discount Tire Co. Charger off of turn 4 resulting in Johnny Williams going for a spin. Caution would fly for the first time on lap #8. The restart would come with 2 laps to go with Goshen leading, Husby, Sweet, Moore and Williams close behind. Goshen leading with one lap to go would spin himself out of the lead in front of on coming traffic, collecting fellow teammate Mike Husby in the mess. Goshen would not continue, but Husby would attempt to finish the race.

A Green-White-Checkered finish was upon the drivers as if it couldn’t get any wilder already. Brent Sweet would inherit the lead, followed by Moore, Williams and Husby. With one lap to go in the Green-White-Checkered Husby and Williams would make contact going into turn 1 and the field would race back to the line. Sweet would hold off Michael Moore for the win (second heat race win of the season), Husby 3rd, Williams 4th and Will Goshen would take 5th.

If heat #1 wasn’t enough, several odd things were shaping up for heat #2. Chris Seymour who had qualified as one of the faster cars for heat #2, had mechanical issues, and would not be able to continue for the rest of the night.

Andrew Hayes and Tyler Tucker would lead the small field to the green flag. Things got ugly quickly, as Andrew Hayes and Tyler Tucker would make contact in turn 1 at the start of the race with Tucker spinning into the outside wall. A restart came on lap #3 with Hayes leading, Stickley and Tucker. The cars would get strung out somewhat, as Andrew Hayes was desperately trying to hold onto the lead, by a hard charging Frankie Stickley. Hayes while attempting a wild block would make hard contact with the inside wall, collecting Frankie Stickley in the melee. Stickley would suffer major damage to his car but would be able to get it repaired in time for the feature.

Another Green-White-Checker was in store for the fans as Tyler Tucker led Andrew Hayes down for the final restart. Tucker would hold off Hayes for his 2nd heat race win of the season, Stickley would wind up 3rd.

After two wild heat races, CASCOR officials were strict on what they wanted to see in the feature race, and that was some green flag racing. Mike Husby would start on the pole with Brent Sweet starting outside the front row. Husby would lead all of the first 17 laps of green flag racing before Tyler Tucker went spinning in turn 4. Johnny Williams, Will Goshen, Michael Moore, Tyler Tucker and Andrew Hayes would all pit for tires under this caution, while everyone else stays out.

Husby would lead the field back to the green flag on lap 23 but would suffer technical issues shortly after. Husby would end up warping for a few seconds after the restart putting him 1 lap down to the rest of the field, handing the lead over to Frankie Stickley.

The race would go green the rest of the way and Frankie Stickley would capture his first feature victory of the season. Brent Sweet would rally back to finish 2nd, Tyler Tucker would also come back to finish 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th and Johnny Williams rounded out the top 5.

The CASCOR TuckGraphics.com Can-Am Late Model Series is living up to its format with 3 different feature winners in 3 races, and 4 different heat race winners. Will there be another new face in victory lane next week or will we see another repeat winner? Is there really a rivalry between the point’s leaders? Find out next week as the series heads to the Motor Mile Speedway for the Whelen Made in America 50!

SEYMOUR WINS WILD RACE AT NEW SMYRNA!

January 18th, 2010 -- When the CASCOR TuckGraphics.com Can-Am Late Model Series rolled into New Smyrna Speedway the drivers and teams had to wait for a brief rain shower to move through, that delayed the night’s events by about an hour.

But when the track dried, it was time to get things fired up with heat #1. Starting on the front row for the first heat race would be none other than Johnny Williams and Andrew Hayes. Hayes would fall back from his 2nd place starting position all the way back to 5th by turn 2 on lap one. Chris Seymour would end up spinning off of turn 4 and was sent flipping through the air collecting Brent Sweet as well on lap 1.

Caution would fly for the first and only time in the race as Frankie Stickley would lead the field back to the restart. Stickley would pull away from the field and go on to win heat #1. Brent Sweet finished 2nd after getting involved in the lap 1 incident, Chris Seymour rallied back to finish 3rd, Johnny Williams 4th and Andrew Hayes rounded out the finishing order

Heat #2 saw Will Goshen and Ben Althen lead the field to the green flag. The green flag flew with Goshen taking the lead on lap 1. Going into turn #1 on lap two would see Goshen get turned around by Tyler Tucker bringing out the only caution of the race.

Tucker would lead the field back to the green flag, followed closely by Mike Husby. Husby would mount several charges for the lead, but couldn’t find a way around Tucker. Tucker would lead the rest of the way and claim the victory of heat #2. Husby finished 2nd, Will Goshen managed to get by Althen for 3rd and Althen would take home 4th.

Now that the heat races were complete it was time for the drivers to once again draw for position. Ben Althen would draw the first position for the A Feature starting along side Andrew Hayes in the #87. Althen would lead lap 1 but later on lap 2 Husby would manage to get inside Althen at the same time Althen got loose and shot straight into the turn 4 wall. Johnny Williams with no where to go hit Althen’s Ford Fusion, sending it sailing through the air, slowing the field for the first time of the night.

Mike Husby would lead the field back to the green flag on lap 8. Shortly after the restart Frankie Stickley would slip by Husby taking over the lead. Chris Seymour would follow Stickley through for 2nd position at the time, pushing Husby back to 3rd in the running order. After a short 4 lap sprint Brent Sweet’s #85 machine spun off of turn #2 bringing out the second caution of the night. Mike Husby, Tyler Tucker, Johnny Williams, Ben Althen and Brent Sweet would all pit during the caution period.

Frankie Stickley would lead the field back to the restart on lap 21. Things would get wild with Husby, Tucker, Williams and Sweet on the move with 4 fresh tires. The field would manage to sort themselves out for 7 laps before Johnny Williams would have a solo spin in turn #3 bringing out the third caution of the night. Johnny Williams, Andrew Hayes, Brent Sweet and Will Goshen would pit for tires this caution.

Stickley once again led the field back to the green flag on lap 35 with Chris Seymour close behind. Stickley looked to have spun the tires and that would give Chris Seymour a good run going into turn #1. Although he got inside Stickley it appeared as if Stickley’s spotter didn’t let him know Seymour was down there and Stickley went spinning in turn #1 collecting Mike Husby in the mess. This would bring out the caution for the 4th time of the night.

Chris Seymour would lead the field back to the green with 10 laps to go. With time running short so were the drivers tempers. Will Goshen while trying to make a pass around the outside of Andrew Hayes, got loose off of turn #2, would make contact with Ben Althen sending the #64 and #09 cars flipping down the back straightaway bringing out the 5th caution of the night.

A restart with 4 laps to go saw Seymour leading, Tyler Tucker 2nd, Andrew Hayes 3rd, Brent Sweet 4th and Johnny Williams 5th. Back in the pack Frankie Stickley and Johnny Williams made contact coming off of turn #2, while Tyler Tucker and Andrew Hayes went synchronized spinning in turn 3. Mike Husby who looked like would manage to get through the mess ended up spinning out in turn #4.

The race would finish under caution with Chris Seymour taking home the victory. Brent Sweet would take home 2nd, Will Goshen squeaked through for 3rd, Ben Althen rallied back to 4th and Mike Husby rounded out the top 5.

With the Florida races now out of the way, its time to head north to Ace Speedway in North Carolina. Brent Sweet pads his points lead to 32 points over Chris Seymour and looks to stay dominant all season long. Can anyone stop Brent Sweet from running away with the championship? How many new winners will the division see? And can anyone repeat? We’ll find out next week for the Lucas Oil 50 at Ace Speedway!

SWEET DOMINATES OPENING NIGHT IN TUCK GRAPHICS CAN-AM LATE MODEL SERIES

January 11th, 2010 -- With 2009 in the rear view mirror it was time to get 2010 underway with the exciting CASCOR Can-Am Late Model Series.

Starting off the night in Heat race #1, Andrew Hayes and Michael Moore would lead the field to the green flag. Hayes would lead 7 laps before spinning off the nose of Chris Seymour’s Pontiac Grand Prix. On the restart Chris Seymour would pull away from Mike Husby and go on to win Heat #1. Chris Seymour Wins, Mike Husby 2nd, Michael Moore 3rd, Ben Althen 4th and Andrew Hayes rounded out the top 5.

Heat #2 would get underway with Brian Eutsler and Johnny Williams leading the field to the green flag. Eutsler with handling issues all night would drop back quickly with Johnny Williams holding onto the lead for 7 of the 10 laps. Will Goshen brought out the first caution with a spin in turn #2.

Brent Sweet the quiet one in heat number two, would make his way through the field slowly but surely. On lap 8, attempting a pass to the outside of Johnny Williams, Sweet would end up getting a tap in the side sending Sweet spinning off of turn #2 with the caution flying for the final time in the race.

Johnny Williams led them back to the start with Tyler Tucker, Will Goshen, Brent Sweet and Brian Eutlser behind. Sweet would come from 4th to win the heat race in the final 2 laps. Sweet Wins Heat #2, Johnny Williams 2nd, Will Goshen 3rd, Brian Eutlser 4th and Tyler Tucker rounded out the top 5.

Now that the heat races were over, it was time to start the main event. Luck was on Chris Seymour’s side, as he drew 1st position for the A Feature event, starting along side Michael Moore. Chris Seymour would pull away from the field at the beginning of the race, with Mike Husby following close behind. Husby would fall off the lead lap due to some technical issues, but would gain his lap back with the caution coming out for Johnny Williams solo spin in turn #1.

The majority of the field would pit under this caution and would mix up the running order for the restart. Will Goshen led the field back to the restart followed by, Mike Husby, Ben Althen, Chris Seymour and Brent Sweet. A lap after the restart, Husby would take over the lead from Will Goshen, while Ben Althen spun in turn #2 bringing out the 2nd caution of the night.

Restart on lap 19 saw Husby bring the field to the green followed by, Michael Moore, Brent Sweet, Johnny Williams and Andrew Hayes. Shortly after the restart Will Goshen spun his #64 Xtra Mart Impala bringing out the 3rd caution of the night. Mike Husby and many others would pit, while Michael Moore, Chris Seymour, Andrew Hayes and Ben Althen would stay out.

Restart on lap 28 saw Michael Moore leading, Chris Seymour, Andrew Hayes, Ben Althen and Brent Sweet rounding out the top 5. A few laps after the restart, Chris Seymour would get extremely loose coming off of turn 4 stacking up the field. As a result Mike Husby and Johnny Williams almost spun around in turn 1, but managed to keep their cars going in the right direction. The racing was intense, and the battle for the lead heated up with Brent Sweet taking over the lead 8 laps after the restart. Chris Seymour and Michael Moore racing hard for 2nd place would result in caution. Seymour got under Moore, but slid up the track a bit, and Moore attempted to pass in a cross over move, but ended up turning Seymour around off of turn #2 bringing out the caution for the 4th time of the night.

With 13 laps to go Brent Sweet led the field under caution, with Mike Husby 2nd, Andrew Hayes 3rd, Johnny Williams 4th and Ben Althen 5th. A few drivers from 3rd place on back would pit, scrambling up the running order for the final restart of the night.

Brent Sweet led the field to the green flag followed by Mike Husby, Andrew Hayes, Johnny Williams and Chris Seymour. Seymour would move from 5th on the restart, up to 3rd in two laps with a chance to run down race leaders, Brent Sweet and Mike Husby. The field managed to get pretty strung out, with little to no movement for position the rest of the way. Until, with 2 laps to go, Mike Husby lost control of his car off of turn 4 taking the #29 of Chris Seymour with him. The field raced back to the line with Brent Sweet taking home the victory in the TuckGraphics.com 50.

Sweet wins, Andrew Hayes finished a career high 2nd, Johnny Williams 3rd, Michael Moore 4th and Ben Althen rounded out the top 5.

The CASCOR Can-Am Late Model Series heads north to New Smyrna, FL for the running of the Advance Auto Parts 50. Brent Sweet looks to repeat with Mike Husby and Chris Seymour hot on his heels. Can anyone else pull off a surprise win? Or will Sweet repeat? Will we have some new winners in the heat races? We’ll find out next week at the New Smyrna Speedway!

Stickley Rocks, Winning the Race and Championship at the Rock!

December 21st, 2009 -- Although the championship may have been decided at the start of the event, the final race of the season was sure to be a good one.

Starting on the pole would be Mike Husby capturing his 4th pole of the year and would start along side new comer to CASCOR Ben Althen. Husby was able to lead the first 8 laps (10 laps total) of the event before handing the lead over to Frankie Stickley who would lead 63 laps. Brent Sweet (led 5 laps), Tyler Tucker (led 9 Laps), Ben Althen (led 9 laps) and Bertus De Jong (led 3 laps) all took turns swapping the lead 13 times over the course of the event.

The action grew intense over the first long run as tires fell off, drivers searched for grip all over the track making it 3 and sometimes 4 wide near the end of the run. But the 2nd caution would fly in the middle of green flag pit stops resulting in many cars falling 1 or more laps down.

Nine cautions flew throughout the night, many for a lack of impatience and self spins. Although, two cautions dramatically changed the way the race played out. The third to last caution involved several top contenders, including; Frankie Stickley, Mike Husby, Andrew Hayes and Bertus De Jong. Hayes went to block Stickley who was going for 2nd place at the time and started a chain reaction wreck that took Husby and De Jong spinning in turn 3.

Husby and Hayes would pit for 4 tires and get back out on the track for another run to the checkers. But De Jong did not pit and tried to stay out on very worn tires to try and keep the field behind him. On the restart De Jong didn't get a very good start and slowed down Stickleys attempt to take over the lead. Stickley managed to get by De Jong in turn 3. And with the worn tires De Jong couldn't hang on to it anymore and pushed up the track off of turn 4 into Ben Althen taking with them, Mike Husby.

Althen, De Jong and Husby would pit once again for tires and give it one last run to the checkers. Stickley would lead, Brent Sweet 2nd, Tucker 3rd, Eutsler 4th and Hayes 5th on the restart. Stickley pulled out to a pretty comfterble lead and hold off Sweet for the win. Meanwhile Husby and Althen were working their tails off to get back up to the front. Husby would restart 7th and end the race in 4th place, while Althen would come from 6th to finish 5th. Brian Eutsler who restarted 4th would get crossed up with another driver dropping him from 4th to 7th.

Stickley wins the race and the championship, Brent Sweet finished 2nd, Tyler Tucker 3rd, Mike Husby 4th and Ben Althen rounded out the top 5 in his CASCOR debut.

The season was full of many long green flag runs and very odd and exciting races. Stickley's dominant season saw him rack up 6 wins in 10 starts, the most dominating season by a driver in CASCOR thus far. Only 4 drivers won races this season, Frankie Stickley, Harrison Widelitz, Brent Sweet and Wesley Hoag.

Starting off the 2010 season will be the Tuck Graphics Can Am Late Model Series which will feature heat races and feature races which should make for some fast and intense racing from all the drivers in CASCOR. All the action will get under way January 10th, 2010! Don't miss out!

Have a great Holiday season and Happy New Year from everyone at CASCOR!

Stickley Wins Another at South Boston

December 14th, 2009 -- Controversy was the name of the game this time around as the CASCOR Super Car Series headed to the short track of South Boston Speedway.

Jordan Robson won the pole and Frankie Stickley started along side the front row. The race got underway with a 35 lap green flag run that spread out the field. Mike Husby would bring out the first caution for spinning on the back straight away.

Jordan Robson and Frankie Stickley had another classic battle for the win at South Boston and both would end up having to come from the rear at certain portions of the race. Robson stayed out on old tires to keep track position after a caution came out quickly after and early race restart. Which put Robson in the lower half of the top 5, and quickly turned into major controversy.

Brent Sweet and Robson got together going into turn 3 and Robson was sent hard into the outside wall. On coming driver Andrew Hayes had no where to go with a car already inside of him at the time, destroying Robson's car. Robson would then retaliate against Sweet and halt the field for a few seconds on the front straightaway to avoid the wrecked car of Robson.

Then the race was on with 3 laps to go as the field would get a Green - White - Checkered finish to decide the winner. Stickley got off to a great jump over sweet as Grams and Husby battled it out for 3rd spot. Husby would attempt a pass under Grams going into turn 3 for the spot but tapped the inside wall slowing his car down just enough for Wesley Hoag to get into him. Husby slid up the track giving way for Hoag to take over 4th. Husby and Hayes would race to the line with Husby about a car length in front of Hayes to keep the 5th position.

Stickley wins the final short track race of the year increasing his win total to 5, Brent Sweet put up a fight to come home 2nd, Auz Grams finished 3rd, Wesley Hoag 4th and Mike Husby rounded out the top 5.

With only 1 race left it looks like Frankie Stickley has the championship in the bag but the battle for 4th on back is still up in the air. As well the Manufacturer's title will be decided next week. Can Chevrolet out run Toyota? Will Frankie Stickley cap off a dominating year with a win? Can anyone else unseat Stickley from the top spot and pull of an upset? Find out next week as the series heads to the Rockingham North Carolina Speedway for the TUCKGraphics.com 100!

Hoag Wins Big in First Start at Dega!

December 7th, 2009 -- With low car counts over the majority of the CASCOR Super Car Series season. It was time to roll into Talladega for the CASCOR Super Car Series 100 with 16 drivers (2nd most in league history) taking the green flag.

Jordan Robson the Super Speedway pole running ace sat on the pole once again with Michael Moore starting outside the front row.

Wesley Hoag a rookie to CASCOR but a sim racing veteran, was dominant all night leading 22 laps, the most of any driver during the night. Other leaders included, Josh Rhodes, Johnny Williams, Harrison Widelitz, Frankie Stickley, Tyler Tucker, Andrew Hayes, Jordan Robson and Bertus De Jong.

On the final restart with only 7 laps to go Wesley Hoag, Mike Husby, Andrew Hayes, Auz Grams and Tyler Tucker led the field to the restart. But with only 4 laps to go Husby was starting to get antsy and dove high and then dove low to try and budge Hoag off the bottom and high side. With no luck Husby would fall from 2nd to 5th in the remaining laps.

Andrew Hayes also tried to make a move under Husby but would get trapped in the middle 3 wide and fall to a dismal 9th place finish. But no one could anticipate what would happen next. With two laps to go Jordan Robson and Frankie Stickley would make slight contact off of turn 2 and Robson would be slammed into the outside wall but would manage to stay out of the way of traffic.

The caution would fly for the final time and it would result in a mad scramble back to the start finish line. Josh Rhodes would be the only one that would have a shot at taking over the lead, but would come up about a half a car length short of victory.

Hoag wins in his first CASCOR appearance, Josh Rhodes 2nd, Johnny Williams finished a season best 3rd, Harrison Widelitz finished 4th and Mike Husby rounded out the top 5.

Now, with only 2 races left Frankie Stickley looks to clinch the championship at South Boston Speedway. No one looks like they’ll be able to beat Stickley for the championship in the final two events but some stranger things have happened in the past.

Who will win next week for some short track beating and banging? Will the regular short track drivers be up front or will someone new emerge in Victory lane? Don’t miss any of the action as the series heads to the South Boston Speedway for the running of the OneFiveNine Web Designs 159!

Sweet Wins in Style at the Indianapolis Road Course!

November 30th, 2009 -- With the majority of the oval races out of the way, it was time to head back to a road course. This time it was the first stop for the CASCOR Super Car Series to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road course.

Starting on the pole would be Super Car Series point’s leader Frankie Stickley, while Jordan Robson would start outside the front row.

The race would get off to a great start as all 9 drivers would make it through the first lap unscathed. But caution would come out early when Tyler Tucker and Frankie Stickley would make contact.

Only four cautions would slow the event, but when it came down to the end it made for a spectacular finish between the top 4 cars. The leaders, Frankie Stickley, Jordan Robson, Mike Husby and Brent Sweet would pit on the final caution and all but Mike Husby took 4 tires. Husby would gamble to take 2 tires, but would fall to 4th by races end.

On the final restart, Husby leading, got off to a terrible start and would get passed by Jordan Robson and Frankie Stickley in turn 1. Robson and Stickley would battle it out for the 3 of the final 5 laps when they’d get into each other coming to get the white flag.

Brent Sweet who was battling with Mike Husby went on to get by Husby and pulled away from the field to win his 2nd race of the Super Car Series season and 3rd in CASCOR. Jordan Robson finished 2nd, Stickley 3rd, Husby 4th and Michael Moore once again rounded out the top 5.

Next week the CASCOR Super Car Series heads to the high banks and high speeds of the Talladega Super Speedway. Super Speedway racing has shown to give the slower guys on a regular basis a shot to win, so this week anything can happen. You wont want to miss it!

Stickley leaves ‘em in the Dust at Illinois!

November 24th, 2009 -- With the usual tracks out of the way it was time to hit the dirt for the first time in CASCOR history at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

Frankie Stickley won the pole and started along side Andrew Hayes. That’s right Andrew Hayes; Hayes was one of the cars to beat Sunday evening and showed he had what it took to run with Stickley.

The race got off to a very wild start with several drivers making it 3 wide 3 or 4 times on the first lap. The action would come to a halt when Andrew Hayes, Johnny Williams and Mike Husby tangled to bring out the first caution, but all drivers would continue on.

Quite a few cautions flew with it being the first dirt race in CASCOR history but the finish would make it all worth while. Andrew Hayes used strategy to work his way up to 2nd place before the final restart of the night.

On the final restart Frankie Stickley leading pulled out to a slim lead over Andrew Hayes. Hayes hungry as ever to get his first victory tried everything he could to get by Stickley but would come up 2 tenths of a second short.

Stickley wins his 4th race of the season, Andrew Hayes finishes a CASCOR career best 2nd, Jordan Robson finished a close 3rd, Brent Sweet came up just short of Robson in 4th and Husby would drop 2 positions on the final restart to finish 5th.

After some negotiations fell through with Portland International Raceway for the Portland 50 that was supposed to happen this weekend, Indianapolis Motor Speedway stepped up to fill the spot with the running of the Indianapolis Challenge on the Indianapolis Road Course.

Although it was built for the Formula 1 series, CASCOR is happy to have the first stock car race ever run on the road course. Andrew Hayes will once again be a contender to win as he has a road racing background and don’t count out Mike Husby, Jordan Robson, and Frankie Stickley as they are sure to be contenders as well.

Who will win the first stock car race at the Indy Road Course? Can anyone stop Frankie Stickley from winning the Super Car Series Championship? Find out Sunday as the drivers make their way to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway! You won’t want to miss it!

Running On Fumes; Sweet Pulls Off Win at Kentucky

November 16th, 2009 -- While Frankie Stickley’s dominance continues it was finally time for someone else to unseat Frankie Stickley from the win column Sunday night at the Kentucky Motor Speedway.

Mike Husby once again sat on the pole with fellow team mate Frankie Stickley starting outside the front row. Again Husby would lead the field into turn 1 until Frankie Stickley got around Husby on the high side off of turn 2. Stickley would dominate the event again leading the most laps for the 4th time this season, but would not lead the last lap.

Brent Sweet, who started scratch on the field, would not show his cards until the final 10 laps of the event. Sweet would be the only driver to attempt to make the race all the way on fuel, while other drivers were 3-6 laps short on making it the rest of the way and would have to pit. It would pay off for Sweet as he had over an 8 second lead on Frankie Stickley and Mike Husby coming off of turn 3 on the final lap. Sweet ended up running out of fuel and coasted across the start finish line with the win.

Sweet wins his first Super Car Series race (2nd win in CASCOR), Stickley 2nd, Husby 3rd, Michael Moore is his CASCOR debut and first race since 1 year ago ended up 4th and Andrew Hayes would round out the top 5.

Kentucky became the 2nd race of the season to finish without a caution which spread out the field quite a bit. Next week the CASCOR Super Car Series heads to Illinois State Fairgrounds for the Allen Crowe 100, which also happens to be CASCOR’s first dirt track race ever. Who will win? Will there be a surprise winner or will Frankie Stickley win again? Find out as the CASCOR Super Car Series will make history Sunday November, 22nd, 2009!

Post-Race Interviews: Brent Sweet | Mike Husby | Andrew Hayes

Stickley Wins Hard Fought Battle @ Iowa

November 9th, 2009 -- After some weird and wild races it was finally time to start trading some paint. Mike Husby and Frankie Stickley led the field to the green flag for the start of the 150 lap event.

As the race got underway Husby pulled out to the early lead for ¾’s of a lap before Stickley got by at the start/finish line. Stickley would lead several times for 111 laps as Husby would try to give him a run for his money, following close behind.

Husby would make a few charges for the lead and would be able to get around Stickley for 1 lap in the closing laps of the event but would not be able to hold on to the spot.

Rookie of the year contender and current 2nd place points man Will Goshen put up a whale of a fight to attempt to win the event in the closing stages. “I gave it all I had, tires were a big deal all night but I tried as hard as I could to get it to the end.” – Goshen said. Goshen would attempt to finish the race on 30 lap old tires stretching out to a 12 second lead with 5 laps to go. “Those were probably the longest 5 laps of my racing career, but we came up just short, ahhhh!” – Goshen finished. It wasn’t meant to be as Stickley would blow by Will Goshen with 1 ¼ laps left and win his 3rd race of the year.

Stickley wins, Brent Sweet 2nd, Will Goshen blew a left front tire with 1 ¼ laps to go and finished 3rd, Husby after running 2nd all night ended up 4th, and Jordan Robson would return to CASCOR with a 5th place finish.

With the competition starting to close in on Stickley, will his dominance continue or will someone else finally step up to the plate and take Stickley off the top spot? Can Will Goshen finally get that elusive victory? And can Mike Husby get back into victory lane? Find out next week when the CASCOR Super Car Series heads to Kentucky for the Click it or Ticket 100!

A Night of Firsts

November 2nd, 2009 -- On a seemingly normal night the CASCOR Super Car Series had many firsts. Harrison Widelitz won the pole with Mike Husby starting on the outside of the front row.

The race was the first caution free race in CASCOR league history, as well as Harrison Widelitz's first win in the Super Car series. Mike Husby’s first DNF in quite a while came when he had a commitment line violation and the CASCOR officials wouldn’t let him leave pit road. Without anything else he could possibly do he had to retire from the race.

Harrison Widelitz wins, Tyler Tucker got his first top 5 finish in the Super Car series finishing 2nd, Frankie Stickley 3rd, Brent Sweet 4th and Will Goshen rounded out the top 5.

With 3 wildly different races, there is no telling what will happen next. The series heads to Iowa for the Prairie Meadows 150 and it seems it will be sure to be a wild race. You won’t want to miss it!

Stickley Smokes 'em Again at Toledo

October 26th, 2009 -- With Daytona in the rear view mirror the CASCOR Super Car Series headed to Toledo, OH for the Menards 150. Brent Sweet making his Super Car series debut sat on pole with Stickley outside the front row.

The opening laps looked promising with the first green flag run last just over 40 laps. Brian Eutsler had problems getting started on the night and would never seem to get it back headed in the right direction. The first caution came out when Eutsler and Tyler Tucker made contact going into turn 3. “We just couldn’t get it figured out tonight, I apologize to the leaders and everyone else out there, the car was just all over the place and we had steering issues. So I just decided to park it, rather than mess up anyone else’s night.” – Eutsler said.

From that point in the race on the race went green to the checkered flag. The field was so spread out there really wasn’t any reason to have a caution. Near the end of the race Frankie Stickley and Brent Sweet would duke it out in the final laps to see who would become the winner. Sweet would try everything in the bag to get by Stickley but would come up about a car length short at the finish line.

Stickley Wins and extends his points lead, Brent Sweet finishes 2nd, Will Goshen 3rd, Mike Husby 4th, and Andrew Hayes rounded out to the top 5.

With two wildly different races, next weeks race could be very unpredictable. Can Frankie Stickley continue his domination? Or will someone else reach victory lane, find out next week as the Super Car Series heads to Pocono Raceway for the Pocono 100!

Stickley Wins Daytona!

October 19th, 2009 -- The new CASCOR Super Car Series made its debut last night in the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 100. None other that the race sponsors car the Lucas Oil Slick Mist Monte Carlo of Mike Husby would sit on the pole with Tyler Tucker starting in 2nd.

As the race got underway, Mike Husby would jump to the early lead, leading the first lap of the race. Tyler Tucker would make his way by Husby on lap two and hold on to the lead until the first caution came out, with Husby spinning in turn 3 off the bumper of Brian Eutsler.

The drivers would come in for tires and fuel to make sure they could make it the rest of the way. Tyler Tucker would retire after this pit stop for unknown mechanical issues. Frankie Stickley, Will Goshen, Andrew Hayes and Bertus De Jong were the top of the crop as the race wound down to its conclusion.

With 15 laps to go Andrew Hayes blew his engine while attempting a pass for the lead, this setup quite a finish between the remaining drivers. On the restart Will Goshen would pull out to a slim lead over Frankie Stickley, Bertus De Jong and Mike Husby. Husby would help out his Stickley Motorsports team owner Frankie Stickley and Stickley would jump out to the lead.

With 3 laps to go Husby and De Jong would try as hard as they could to get around Stickley but would come up just short. Stickley wins, De Jong 2nd, Husby 3rd, Goshen 4th and Brian Eutsler would round out the top 5.

After an interesting start to the season the series looks promising. Next week the series heads to Toledo, OH for the running of the Menards 150. Can Stickley pull off another win or will someone else take the reins, find out next week, it’s sure to be a good one!

Robson Wins It All!

October 5th, 2009 -- As the Canadian Tire Series haulers pulled into Kawartha Speedway’s pit area, the intensity of the competitors was very high as they knew it was crunch time. If they were going to make anything happen, tonight was the night to do it.

Qualifying concluded with Jordan Robson and Charli Brown qualifying on the front row. Mike Husby 2nd place points man on the night qualified 3rd.

The race got underway with Jordan Robson pulling out to an early lead on Mike Husby and Charli Brown, who were content to stay single file as the field got spread out around the track. Husby tried to make a few moved inside of Jordan Robson but would come up short a few times. A caution would come out about 18 laps into the race for a spinning Johnny Williams.

When the race got back going Jordan Robson would come under attack by Mike Husby who tried to make a move inside Robson going into turn 3. Husby would get by Robson coming off of turn 2 the next lap. Robson would get loose and fall to 3rd, while Frankie Stickley took over the lead the next lap after starting 11th.

Mike Husby 2nd place points coming into the night would get tangled up in a wreck with Charli Brown seeing is points chances dwindle in the late going. Husby as well as Brown would take 4 tires and charge their way back up to the front.

On the final lap many things all over the track were taking place. Jordan Robson and Frankie Stickley battling for the lead would get out of shape coming off of turn 4 with Robson crossing the line 1 car length ahead of Frankie Stickley. At the same time, Charli Brown, Dave Collard and Mike Husby were battling for 3rd with Collard spinning off of 4 would drop from 4th to 5th as he came across the line backwards.

Robson wins the race and the Championship by 45 points of Mike Husby, Frankie Stickley caps off a dominating team season in 2nd, Charli Brown ends the season on a high note finishing 3rd, Husby ends his season on good terms in 4th, and Dave Collard ends his run in a Husby Motorsports car in 5th.

With the season finally finished out, it’s now time for teams to get all their stuff built and ready to go for next year. New paint schemes and new faces in different places will have a new outcome in 2010. Will Stickley Motorsports dominate in 2010? Can Mike Husby get back what was taken from him? or will Jordan Robson repeat as Champ? We’ll find out next year! Have a great off season!

Dream Machine Wins Nightmare Race

September 28th, 2009 -- On a night that seemed would be a great evening struck a very wild and crazy night for the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series.

Jordan Robson 2nd in points coming into the night started on the pole along side Chris Ciriello. The race was plagued by cautions and caused some major headaches for officials and drivers.

But when it came down to it a final restart with about 20 laps to go would see quite a finish. After leading 100 laps on the night Jordan Robson would lose the lead to Frankie Stickley with 5 laps to go. Stickley would hang on to win his 5th race of the season and his teams 4th win in 5 races.

Jordan Robson would finish 2nd and take over the points lead 25 markers in front of Husby, Will Goshen finished 3rd, Andrew Hayes 4th and Tyler Tucker would round out the top 5. Mike Husby the points leader coming into the night had more electrical problems but would recover to finish 6th, Brent Sweet finished 7th, Johnny Williams 8th, Chris Ciriello 9th and Dave Collard rounded out the top 10.

With only one race left the Champion will be decided at the conclusion of the Ontario Dodge Dealers Ram 125. Who will come out on top at the end of the night? Who will end up winning the final race of the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series season? Find out Sunday as the drivers and teams head to Kawartha Downs for the final race of the season!

Sweet Makes it Sweet in the Pizza Pizza 150

September 22nd, 2009 -- As the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series drivers headed to Barrie Speedway the originally scheduled date was rained out as a large rain storm caused the race to be post-poned until September 20th, 2009.

New comer Justin Collison and Tyler Tucker brought the field down to the green flag. As the race got underway Mike Husby (the championship point’s leader) moved up from 3rd to first in 5 laps. A caution came out right away and Justin Collison didn’t not slow down at the same time Husby did and Husby would get turned around in turn 3.

On the restart Jordan Robson would lead the field for a few laps, as Chris Ciriello would take over the lead on lap 15. Tony Stevens would spin his car off of turn 2 to bring out the caution. The leaders would take this opportunity to pit for fresh tires and gas, while Steven Carlile, Justin Collison and Mike Husby stayed out to gain track position.

A few laps after the restart Mike Husby regained the lead on lap 27 with point’s chaser Jordan Robson close behind. Husby would go on to lead 54 laps en route to a dismal 11th place finish.

With the laps winding down a restart with 11 laps to go ended up costing Frankie Stickley and Mike Husby a good finishing position. The #99 of David Baldinger pushed up the track in front of Frankie Stickley causing the #59 to flip over in turn 2. Husby got turned around by Roger Nebelsick while slowing for the incident. As the two tried to get turned around in the right direction, Stickley and Husby made contact pushing their cars forwards going the wrong way. This resulted in an immediate disqualification for both cars.

To cap things off for the event would be none other than a 5 lap shootout to the finish. Brent Sweet who had been one of the fastest cars during the race would lead the field back to the green and never look back. Sweet went on to win his first career CASCOR Canadian Tire Series race, Chris Ciriello finished 2nd in his come back to the Canadian Tire Series, Tyler Tucker 3rd, Justin Collison in his debut finished 4th and Jordan Robson finished 5th.

With only 2 events remaining in the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series 2009 season championship is coming down to the wire. Mike Husby and Jordan Robson have only 5 points separating each other going into Riverside. Will Husby continue to have problems? Or can he finally finish the race without any issue? Can Jordan Robson get into victory lane once again at a track he was extremely fast at in pre-season testing? We’ll find out Sunday when the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series heads to the Riverside International Speedway for the Atlantic Dodge Dealers 150, you will not want to miss it!

Stickley Smokes them in Coke Zero 100

August 31st, 2009 -- Coming into Cayuga Speedway the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series season has begun to wind down. With only 4 races left things are bound to start getting intense and frustrating.

Mike Husby and Charli Brown would lead the field to the green flag. As the race got underway Charli Brown would quickly force Husby into a tough situation and would take over the lead, Husby would drop back to 4th as Tyler Tucker and Frankie Stickley went on by.

The first caution of the night came out when Frankie Stickley and Charli Brown got together resulting in Brown’s car rolling over in turn 3. After being towed back to the pits the crew worked on Brown’s car to get it back in the race, but would never recover from the incident falling to an 8th place finish.

Later on in the race championship point’s leader Mike Husby had some electrical issues falling 3 laps down in the process. Although plagued by electrical issues Husby managed to get 2 laps back and would finish 6th 1 lap down, losing 10 points to 2nd place Jordan Robson.

As the race wound down to its conclusion everyone thought that the race would go green to the end, until Tyler Tucker and Dave Collard got together in turn 3. This brought out the caution with 2 laps to go and the race ended under yellow.

Frankie Stickley went on to win his 4th race of the season, Tyler Tucker 2nd, Dave Collard 3rd, Jordan Robson gained 10 points on Mike Husby finishing 4th, and Andrew Hayes brought home yet another top 5 finish rounding out the top 5.

The CASCOR Canadian Tire Series has a week off for Labor Day weekend but will be back in action at Barrie Speedway for the Pizza Pizza 150. Will Mike Husby continue to have problems? Or can he get back to victory lane? Can Jordan Robson pull off the upset with only 3 races remaining? We’ll find out next week, don’t miss any of the action at Barrie Speedway!

Robson Wins Wild One at Trois-Rivieres

August 24th, 2009 -- With 8 races down and 5 to go, it was off to Trois-Rivieres for what would be a very exciting last road course race of the 2009 season. Jordan Robson and Tyler Tucker would lead the field to the green flag.

As the race got under way the field funneled down into turn 1 cleanly and went on to run 8 green flag laps before the first caution came out. Charli Brown who is 3rd place in the point’s standings brought out the first caution of the night.

On the restart Robson leading, Frankie Stickley 2nd, Tyler Tucker 3rd, championship point’s leader Mike Husby 4th, and Steve Carlile 5th, Mike Husby’s motor let go coming off of turn 1. This dropped Husby’s point lead from 89 to 35 over Jordan Robson by the end of the night.

The race was intense throughout the night but nothing could measure up to the finish. A late caution came out resulting in a Green, White, Checker finish which would produce one of the best finishes in CASCOR history. Coming off the final turn Jordan Robson got loose and Frankie Stickley got under him, battling to the line the two collided, with Frankie Stickley’s car bouncing off the end of the pit lane wall and shooting back across the track. Jordan Robson spinning across the track went on to win the race, Frankie Stickley barrel rolling across the start/finish line came home 2nd, Steven Carlile 3rd, Andrew Hayes ended up a quiet 4th and Charli Brown battled his way back to a 5th place finish.

Next week the Canadian Tire Series heads back to Cayuga Motor Speedway for the Coke Zero 100 for race #10. Will Mike Husby continue to have problems? Can Jordan Robson pull off the upset? Or could Charli Brown get back into victory lane? After last week anything can happen, so you won’t want to miss it!

Stickley Wins Yet Again

August 17th, 2009 -- With the season winding down, the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series headed back to Bowmanville Ontario for the Full Throttle Energy Drink 100. Starting on the front row would be Frankie Stickley and Mike Husby.

Although the track had little to no grip the drivers did a great job of driving only bringing out 5 cautions for 25 laps. Frankie Stickley led 93 laps, the most of any driver and went on to win the race. Championship point’s leader Mike Husby suffered electrical issues and would fall to a dismal 9th place after hanging onto Frankie Stickley’s rear bumper for the majority of the race.

Frankie Stickley wins his third race of the season, Tyler Tucker finishes 2nd, Brent Sweet 3rd, Charli Brown 4th and Dave Collard brings home his first top 5 of the season.

With that, Charli Brown was finally able to gain a little bit of ground on Husby in the championship. Jordan Robson 2nd place in points was unable to attend the race and lost valuable points on Mike Husby.

Now, with only 5 races left the drivers head to Quebec for the final road course race of the season, will Husby continue to have problems? Will there be a new face in victory lane? We’ll find out next week in the GP3R 50 at Trois-Rivieres!

Husby Takes Wins at Peterborough

August 10th, 2009 -- With all the west coast races out of the way, the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series headed back east for the NAPA Auto Parts 100 at Peterborough Speedway. Charli Brown and Tyler Tucker led the field to the green flag.

Brown would lead the most laps but after making a late pit stop got together with Brent Sweet and would have to retire his car. With the majority of the leaders pitting championship point’s leader Mike Husby would stay out and take over the lead.

Passing was tough to do all night, but it would still produce some great racing. There were 9 lead changes between three different drivers (Charli Brown, Mike Husby and Tyler Tucker), but the one driver that came out on top was none other than Mike Husby. Husby would lead 46 laps on route to his 3rd victory of the 2009 season. “We had a decent car… we had some electrical issues we just got sorted out before qualifying, and ended up qualifying the car in 5th. Right after we finished our run they resurfaced and we just barely made it to the grid before the race started. We didn’t have a whole lot of time, and we forgot to change the steering ratio to my liking, before I was put in the car to start the race… we had an eventful night but it worked out in the end.” – Husby said in his post race interview.

With Husby’s win, it extends his points lead to 74 over Jordan Robson who finished 2nd. Coming home in 3rd was Brent Sweet after Dave Collard spun his car out of a 3rd place finish going into turn 3 on the last lap. Tyler Tucker in his first start qualified 2nd and finished 4th. And the impressive Rookie of the Year contender Will Goshen brought home another top 5 finish.

Next week the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series drivers head to the Mosport Oval for the Full Throttle Energy Drink 100. Will Jordan Robson win his sponsors race? Will Mike Husby finally have some bad luck? And could that impressive Rookie possibly get his first win? We’ll find out this weekend, you wont want to miss it!

Pontiac's First Win is Stickley's Second in a Row

July 29th, 2009 -- As the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series headed to the Rexall Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta it would also be the Series' 2nd road course race, and it was nothing short of exciting.

Frankie Stickley won the pole with a blistering time of 1:14.9 seconds, leading the field to the green flag. He'd lose the lead on lap one to Jordan Robson and would quickly regain the lead back on lap two.

The first caution came out for Series points leader Mike Husby causing a self spin. With the caution coming out about 5 laps from scheduled green flag stops, the field decided to pit for 4 tires and fuel. This would result in race leader Frankie Stickley getting a black flag for passing a slower car under yellow entering the pits. He'd have to serve his penalty and fell to the back of the field.

Jordan Robson led the field for the majority of the race leading a total of 24 laps. Only 3 more cautions would come out to setup a wild 3 lap finish at the end. With Jordan Robson leading, Frankie Stickley 2nd, and Mike Husby 3rd on the final restart it was sure to be a great finish.

Unfortunately with 1 lap to go, leaders Jordan Robson and Frankie Stickley duked it out for the lead, one would go home upset the other with the win. Heading into turn 11 the two would make contact with the #59 of Frankie Stickley spinning the #19 of Jordan Robson out for the win. With the two fuming over the ordeal, Stickley did not celebrate the win feeling bad for what had happened.

The CASCOR Canadian Tire Series sanctioning body declared Frankie Stickley the winner, but would later be fined 25 driver points for what appeared as an avoidable wreck. "I have no problem with the fine, I'm hear to have fun and I understand what the fine was for. I hated to win the race that way, but Jordan and I talked it over and we're cool now. We'll head to Peterborough hoping for a much better ending." - Stickley said in a post race interview.

Stickley wins (Pontiac's first win in CASCOR), Mike Husby came home in 2nd, Steven Carlile with an impressive 3rd, Robson came back to finish 4th and ROTY contender Will Goshen brought home an very impressive 5th.

With Charli Brown having more problems in the race, would lose 19 points to Husby in the standings. Jordan Robson however would lose no points to Husby and moves up to 2nd in the standings. ROTY contender Will Goshen pads his ROTY lead as all the other rookies couldn't race Sunday.

As the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series heads back east, it looks to be an exciting battle at the short 1/3 mile Peterborough Speedway. Will Frankie Stickley continue his dominance? Will Mike Husby get back to victory lane? or will he have problems for once? Can Jordan Robson get that first CASCOR victory? We'll find out on August 9th, 2009 you wont want to miss it!

Stickley Wins In First CASCOR Start at A&W Cruisin The Dub 150

July 22nd, 2009 -- This past Sunday the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series headed west for the first of two west coast races. The first would take place at the Sun Valley Speedway with Michael Strohl and Charli Brown leading the field to the green flag.

The Race was slowed for 20 cautions during the event, a CASCOR record that will hopefully never be broken. But as the laps wound down the racing kept getting even more intense.

In the final stages of the race the restarts were becoming very aggressive as the drivers would battle for every position they could gain. Several times drivers were 3 and 4 wide going into turn 1 but it would be apparent that many times someone would get the short end of the stick, including points leader Mike Husby. Although Husby got spun around and what looked to be a bad day turned out to be a great day rallying back to finish in the top 5.

On the second to last restart back in the pack Husby, Rada and Williams would battle for position with Rada getting stuck in the middle, they would make it off of turn 2 unscathed. Johnny Willams and Steve Rada would get together off of turn 4 though bringing the field down to a Green, White, Checkered finish.

Front runners at the time, Michael Strohl, Frankie Stickley, Brent Sweet, Charli Brown and Jordan Robson were ready to do battle in the final 2 laps of the event. Michael Strohl would get a little bit of a jump on 2nd place Frankie Stickley, but Stickley put Strohl in the pressure cooker and would be able to make the move for the win coming off of turn 4. Strohl sliding the car off the corner got into Brent Sweet who was right behind him and sent several cars spinning down the front straightaway. Charli Brown 2nd in points also spun off of turn 2 falling to a very dissapointing 13th place finish.

The Race would finish under caution, and Frankie Stickley in his first CASCOR Canadian Tire Series start would take the victory. Strohl although he got caught up in the final wreck held on to finish 2nd, Brent Sweet finished 3rd, Jordan Robson finished 4th and Mike Husby finished 5th.

With this race now in the record books, the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series drivers head to the Rexall Edmonton Indy Street Course for the Canadian Tire Series 100. If Mosport was any indication you wont want to miss this one!

Ciriello Dominates in Crown Jewel 100

July 14th, 2009 -- The CASCOR Canadian Tire Series headed to the famed Cayuga Speedway for the first running of the Crown Jewel 100. Starting on the pole once again would be Mike Husby with the #8 of Michael Strohl on the front row.

As the race got underway the field would settle in for a long 18 lap run to begin the event. Caution came out for the first time involving the #46 Charli Brown and #61 Kevin Bartelt getting together in turn 3.

Leaders would pit for 4 tires and fuel while Charli Brown stayed out to lead a lap, he would later pit and line up at the end of the field. Michael Strohl lead the field down to the restart as once again the field would get strung out for about 30 laps.

Caution would come out a few more times throughout the event, but would lead up to a dramatic finish at the end. Chris Ciriello who gained the lead on the 3rd pit stop of the night, lead the field to the final restart as they would only get 1 lap to duke it out for position. Ciriello got a great jump on Jordan Robson and would hold on to take the win.

While the leaders were sitting pretty in 1st and 2nd the battle was still going on for 3rd. Coming off the final corner Michael Strohl and Mike Husby got together off of turn 4, Strohl would end up 6th and Husby came home in 3rd.

Ciriello wins, Jordan Robson 2nd, Husby 3rd, Brown 4th and Steven Carlile would get his first top 5 of the season, bringing it home in 5th.

Mike Husby leaves Cayuga with a 35 point lead over Charli Brown and Chris Ciriello is creeping up the standings, will Brown be able to mount a charge, or will we see a new face in victory lane? Next week the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series heads west to the Sun Valley Speedway in Vernon, BC for the A&W Cruisin The Dub 150!

Brown Burns Them Down in Dickies 100

July 8th, 2009 -- After the first two oval races it was time to head to Bowmanville, ON for the running of the Dickies 100 this past Sunday night. Winner of the past two races, Mike Husby would lead the field to the green flag.

The race got under way with Mike Husby leading the field through the first 4 corners, outside pole sitter Michael Strohl took over the lead in turn 5b as Husby had to save his car from spinning out.

With the field spread out after a few laps the first caution would come out on lap 3 for a spinning Pierre Bourdon. Most of the field would take this opportunity to pit for fresh tires and fuel as Charli Brown and Mike Husby would stay out.

On the restart Charli Brown took over the lead by staying out and would hold onto his position until green flag pit stops for the two leaders as well as Jordan Robson would take place on lap 15. After pitting Mike Husby and Charli Brown left the pits at the same time, Brown trying to get around Steven Carlile spun off of turn 2 and into the grass. This brought out the second caution of the night as many would try different strategy to win the race.

When pit stops under caution concluded one guy would beat out Charli Brown to take over the 2nd spot, that being Kevin Bartelt, who would fall to a 9th place finish at the end of the night. On the restart Mike Husby took over the lead staying out once again and would hold onto the lead until a restart came with 4 laps to go.

With Husby leading Charli Brown, who restarted in 2nd position on the final restart, would jump to the inside of Husby going into turn 1 with a little bit of contact Brown took over the lead and would hold on to win the Dickies 100.

Husby finished 2nd maintaining the points lead, Jordan Robson came home 3rd, Clayton Stokes after flipping over early came back to finish 4th and Chris Ciriello rounded out the top 5. Next week the drivers will head to Nelles Corners for the running of the Crown Jewel 100 at Cayuga 2000 Speedway, dont miss it!

Husby Wins Back to Back at Delaware 100

June 22nd, 2009 -- This past Sunday the CASCOR Canadian Tire Series drivers headed to the Delaware Speedway in London, ON for the running of the Delaware 100. Charli Brown and Mike Husby led the field to the green with Brown taking the early lead going into turn 1.

Although the field was small, there was plenty of side by side racing throughout the night. The field slowed for the first time as the #92 of Pierre Bourdon got into the #56 of Chris Ciriello.

As the race wound down to its conclusion there were several close calls involving #87 Andrew Hayes who nearly lost control of his car on the back straightaway. As well as the #3 of Steven Carlile who got a tap while racing for position but held on to his car.

Around the half way point Mike Husby and Charli Brown battled for the lead with Mike Husby trying to duck low but Charli Brown would close the door, so in an effort to get by Husby went high and got around Brown on the back straightaway and would never look back.

There was also great racing back in the pack where at one point 3rd place through to 11th were all battling for position. The most interesting part of the night was when Andrew Hayes, Kevin Bartelt and Steven Carlile went 3 wide on the back straightaway battling for position. No one wrecked and they all continued to race as if it never happened.
With around 17 laps to go, winning contender Charli Brown got turned around by new comer to the Canadian Tire Series, Kevin Bartelt. This ended up being the final straw for Brown, but would battle back to finish 4th.

Husby would hold on to the lead in the final 10 laps as the caution would come out once again with 4 laps to go, with the race finishing under caution.

Husby wins, Chris Ciriello brought it home in 2nd, Kevin Bartelt in his debut brought his car home 3rd, Charli Brown 4th, Andrew Hayes came back from early troubles to round out the top 5.
Next week the Canadian Tire Series has a week off, then its back to action at the Mosport International Raceway for the Dickie's 100!
